PRISAA REGIONAL GAMES 2023 - CULTURAL EVENTS
GUIDELINES FOR THE REGIONAL CULTURAL COMPETITION
GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Cultural competitions are open to all bona fide high school and college students of PRISAA
member schools who are officially enrolled as of June of the current school year.
2. PRISAAwitan: VOCAL SOLO & DUET
MUTYA NG PRISAA PAGEANT (FOR Senior High School or College, 18-24 years old)
3. Each school must only have one (1) entry in each category and the participants must join in
one (1) category only.
4. The participants must not have represented the country in any international competitions. All
those paid for their services and/or professional artists are disqualified from joining.

5. Contestants must have good moral standing. They should not have been involved in any untoward incident that
would have marred their names or the good name of the Higher Education Institution they represent.
6. Participants must pass the needed requirements as set forth under the rules governing the eligibility of the
athletes.
7. The coach/es of each category should come from the same school being represented.
8. All participants must attend all rehearsals and other functions duly assigned by the organizing committee.
9. The Board of Judges for the PRISAA Regional Competitions is to be provided by the Regional Organizing
Committee. The decision of the Board of Judges is final, executory and irrevocable.
10. Only the organizers authorized by PRISAA Regional shall manage and direct the programs for the national
grand finals. The host schools expected to provide support assistance.

11. The contestants and/or authorized representatives are prohibited from
contacting any of the judges in connection with the ratings. For record purposes,
judges’ ratings or critiques must be submitted to the National Secretariat one (1)
week after the completion of the competitions.
12. For purposes of impartiality and objectivity, the members of the Board of
Judges must not come from any participating school with contestants in any of the
categories.
13. All contestants must be Filipino citizens.
14. Only the organizers authorized by PRISAA Regional shall manage and direct the programs
for the national grand finals. The host schools expected to provide support assistance.
PRISAAWITAN 2023 VOCAL SOLO COMPETITION
1. The piece must be an Original Pilipino Music (OPM) in Filipino.
2. The participant shall be accompanied by a minus-one in CD or in flash drive, which may or may not have back-
up singers. Multiplex, however is not allowed.
3. Rendition must be limited to five (5) minutes only.
4. Regular entertainers or those paid for their services as singers are disqualified from joining the competition.
5. Violation of the rules shall be meted with disqualification.
6. The contestants must attend all rehearsals and other functions duly assigned by the Regional committee.

1. The piece must be an Original Pilipino Music (OPM) in Filipino.
2. The participant shall be accompanied by a minus-one in CD or in flash drive, which may or may

Contest Mechanics and Criteria:
1. The candidate must be a Filipino citizen, single, 18-24 years old, and at least 5’3 inches in
height.
2. She must be proficient in English and Filipino.
3. She must have not won any national or international title.
4. She must provide her own school uniform, evening gown, sportswear and appropriate outfit
for the talent portion, and production number.
5. Must participate in the talent portion with a minimum of two (2) minutes and a maximum of
four (4) minutes of performance. Back-up performers are not allowed in the talent portion.
6. The use of fire, fireworks or any combustible materials is strictly prohibited in the talent
portion.
7. Aside from the document required for submission to the PRISAA Regional Secretariat, the
candidate must submit most recent colored pictures, 5x7 (2 close-up and 2 full body shot).
8. All candidates must attend all rehearsals and other functions duly assigned by the Regional
Committee.

ORATORICAL COMPETITION
(for college only)
Specific Rules
1. The speech of the contestant must be based on the theme to be determined
by the PRISAA Regional Executive Committee. For PRISAA 2023, the theme is:
“PRISAA: Sports Excellence Among the Filipino Youth Under the New Normal.”
2. The oratorical piece must be in English.
3. All oratorical pieces must be original.
4. The delivery time must be between five (5) and seven (7) minutes. One-point
deduction per minute of extension will be applied during the contest.
5. Contestants must memorize their contest piece.

6. Appropriate costume to identify the character may be used.
7. All speeches must be two (2) to four (4) pages long, 500 to 1000
words in length (using font Times New Roman, font size 12).
8. Four copies of the contestant/s oratorical piece must be submitted to
the committee before the contest begins. Otherwise, three (3) points will
be deducted from the contestant/s total score.
9. All winning pieces shall become the property of the PRISAA Regional
Executive Committee.

Lifts
• Lifts are not permitted in any category level and dance.
• A lift is any movement during which one member of a couple
has both feet off the floor at the same time with the
assistance of the partner.
• The chairman of the Board of Adjudicators will DISQUALIFY
couples who will perform lifts during completion.

Marking
Since technology does not allow open marking system, closed marking shall be
used in all rounds of the competition.
SKATING SYSTEM of marking shall be used in the competition.

Modern Standard Discipline - Slow Waltz, Tango, Quickstep
