1. Vigilant Citizen Proposes the Patronize a
Local Business Act
A concerned citizen proposes an act of Congress to stimulate the local economies
across the United States with the help of National media.
Naples, Florida, July 28, 2011 - The following letter was submitted by
concerned citizen Steven Jennings, to Congressman Connie Mack on July 28,
2011 in an effort to stimulate the local economy.
"I am a small business owner who is struggling to get my life together in this
rough economy. I have bills to pay, I want to do good, but I do not have the
resources to push my business to success. I share the same pain as millions of
other small business owners. Instead of spending money to help us, spend a free
resource, Government Access to National TV.
I hereby officially propose the: Patronize a Local Business Act.
To stimulate the economy, we need to provide more access to National Media for
struggling small businesses. We want President Obama to create the 'Patronize a
Local Business Program' Where a local business receives a free endorsement
from The White House on National TV, once each day on a lottery bases. All
commercials can be submitted by participating local businesses, to a designated
state department. I look forward to hearing from you."
According to Jennings, this will have a positive impact creating a ripple effect in
the American economy by putting everyday businesses in the spotlight. It is a
simple, yet innovative idea.
