• The President initiated an effort to improve child care for America's working
families
• The initiative responded to the struggles that working parents faced in finding
child care that they could afford, trust, and rely on

• Critical leadership from the Clinton-Gore Administration, helped get this protocol

• 160 nations agreed on the basic strategy to combat global warming on December

• This agreement is the first time that major nations of the world ever committed
themselves to a comprehensive plan to cut greenhouse gas emissions
