3. Ukraine's Energy Strategy 2030 was updated and the reform of the energy sector and the gas
industry, stipulated in the strategy, will be in full compliance with Ukraine's international obligations.
Objectives:
to create favorable conditions to provide for the national demand for
energy products being satisfied by a stable and high-quality supply;
to develop policies and to establish a favorable environment for safe,
reliable and sustainable functioning of the energy sector and its
development on a most efficient basis;
to improve national energy security;
to scale down the negative technogenic burden on the environment;
to reduce specific in the process of production and use of energy based
on improved energy efficiency, implementation of energy-saving
processes and equipment;
to integrate the United Power System of Ukraine into the European
power system, with an emphasis on gradual increase in electric power
exports.

4. One of the most effective and large-scale energy-saving goals related to the technical (technological) factor,

Strategic importance of Ukrainian gas transportation system is determined by advantageous location of
Ukraine, which is situated between gas production regions (the Russian Federation and Central Asia) and
main gas consumers in European countries as well as by developed system of pipelines.
