2. Ruby's Diner first opened on December 7, 1982
in a converted bait shop at the end of the
Balboa Pier in NewPort Beach, California. On
that day founders Doug Cavanaugh and Ralph
Kosmides worked the grill and cashier station.

3. The first Del Taco restaurant was founded in
1964 in Yermo, Califronia by Ed Hackbarth
and David Jameson. On the first official day
of business, Del Taco made $169
By 2000, Del Taco had 372 stores located in
ten U.S. states.

restaurant chain, predominantly operates in

5. Shakey's Pizza was founded in
Sacramento, California, on April 30, 1954,
by Sherwood "Shakey" Johnson and Ed

purchased Dominick's, a small pizza store in Ypsilanti,
Michigan. In 1965, Monaghan renamed the business
