The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. 4. Penang is a state in Malaysia and the name of its constituent
island, located on the northwest coast of Peninsular Malaysia by
the Strait of Malacca
Penang is the second smallest Malaysian state in area after
Perlis, and the eighth most populous.
It is composed of two parts – Penang Island, where the seat of
government is, and Seberang Perai.
Highly urbanised and industrialised Penang is one of the most
developed and economically important states in the country
as well as a thriving tourist destination.Penang has the
thirdhighest Human Development Index in Malaysia, after the
federal territory of Kuala Lumpur and the state of Selangor. Its
heterogeneous population is highly diverse in
ethnicity, culture, language, and religion.
A resident of Penang is colloquially known as a Penangite.
9. The Penang Botanic
Gardens, (Malay: Taman Kebun
Bunga also known as the
"Waterfall Gardens" because of
the cascading waterfall nearby
is a public park situated on Jalan
Air Terjun (Waterfall Road) in
George Town on Penang
Island, Malaysia. The original
gardens were established in 1884
from an old quarry site, under the
supervision of Charles Curtis, who
was the first superintendent.
10. .The Snake Temple (Chinese: is situated in
Sungai Kluang,
Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia and is
perhaps the only temple of its kind in the
world. The temple is filled with the smoke of
burning incense and a variety of pit vipers.
The vipers are believed to be rendered
harmless by the sacred smoke, but as a
safety precaution, the snakes have also been
de-venomed but still have their fangs
intact, visitors are warned against picking up
the reptiles and placing them on their bodies
for taking pictures. Local devotees believe
that the temple's snake population has come
there of its own accord
11. The Balathandayuthapani Temple, officially the
Arulmigu Balathandayuthapani Kovil, and better
known as the Waterfall Hill Temple or Hill Top
Murugan Temple, is one of the oldest Hindu
temples in Penang. It was originally located
within the grounds of the Penang Botanical
Gardens.
The "old" Balathandayuthapani temple
dates from 1850, when the British
authorities took over the site of the Original
Balathandayuthapani Temple, and provided
the Hindus an eleven-acre plot of hillside
land for their temple. The
Balathandayuthapani temple became the
focus of the annual Thaipusam celebrations
since then.
12. Opened in 1986, the Penang Butterfly Farm –
located in Teluk Bahang – is one of Penang’s
best known and most popular tourist
attractions
The eight-hectare butterfly sanctuary houses
an impressively varied collection of butterfly
species as well as an assortment of other
insects. The farm sits at the foot of the Teluk
Bahang hills – between the Taman Rimba Park
and Teluk Bahang village. It features more
than 4,000 butterflies from more than 120
groups as well as other insects and reptiles.
13. The Kek Lok Si Temple (simplified Chinese:
traditional Chinese: Penang Hokkien for "Temple
of Supreme Bliss" or "Temple of Sukhavati") is a
Buddhist temple situated in Air Itam in Penang
and is one of the best known temples on the
island.
.It is the largest Buddhist temple in Southeast
Asia[citation needed]. The temple is heavily
commercialised with shops at every level and
inside the main temple complexes.
Mahayana Buddhism and traditional Chinese rituals
blend into a harmonious whole, both in the temple
architecture and artwork as well as in the daily
activities of worshippers.
14. Komtar Tower, or Menara Komtar
Complex is Penang's tallest building
and the sixth tallest building in
Malaysia located in the heart of
George Town, dominating the island's
skyline. KOMTAR is an acronym for
Kompleks Tun Abdul Razak. When the
skyscraper topped out it was the
second tallest building in Asia after
Sunshine 60 in Tokyo. Komtar was
still Malaysia's tallest building for 3
years before it was surpassed by
Menara Maybank in Kuala Lumpur in
1988.
