Laylat al-Qadr is the night of decree or destiny that is believed to be better than 1000 months. It is the night when the first verses of the Quran were revealed. The Prophet Muhammad said that whoever spends this night in prayer and faith will be forgiven for all previous sins. This night was only granted to the ummah of Prophet Muhammad to enable them to equal the worship of previous nations. It is believed to fall in the last 10 nights of Ramadan, with the 27th night being most likely. Muslims are encouraged to pray fervently all 10 nights to maximize chances of prayers being accepted on Laylat al-Qadr.
