Genesis 9:12-17New International Version (NIV)
12 And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between
me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all
generations to come: 13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will
be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I
bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I
will remember my covenantbetween me and you and all living
creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to
destroy all life. 16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will
see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all
living creatures of every kind on the earth.”
Covenant
• a formal and serious agreement or
promise

Goal
• Worship is giving God the glory he alone deserves. Music is
one tool he has given us to help us do that. Both through
example and command, Scripture shows us the vital role
music plays in the worship of God. Psalm 66:2 says, “Sing
the glory of his name; give to him glorious praise!” Music is
a gift from God, intended to assist us as we develop and
deepen our relationship with Him.
• The Music and Worship Ministry of Upper Room Church
exists first to identify, train and deploy musicians who will
humbly and skillfully serve God’s purposes for and through
the church. Secondarily, we want to equip the church in
general musical knowledge that will enhance the use of
music in glorifying God.
