The great joy of being a disciple of Jesus is the promise that we are conformed to the image of Jesus. This means that we must think, be, and live like Jesus.
This document contains excerpts from the Bible discussing the sinfulness of presumption. Presumption involves trying to think for God rather than obeying His commands. It demeans God by elevating human thoughts above His. The Pharisees were guilty of presumption by adding to and taking away from God's word. Jesus strongly denounced them for rejecting God's commandments in favor of their own traditions. The consequences of presumption include being struck down, as with Nadab and Abihu, or being rejected by God, as with Saul. True obedience, like Noah constructing the ark, results in blessing. The document encourages self-reflection on whether one's actions honor or dishonor God.
This document provides excerpts from meditations on the Nativity and the Third Joyful Mystery of the Rosary, the Birth of Jesus. It describes Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem, their inability to find lodging in the inn due to lack of room, and their staying in a manger instead. It emphasizes themes of poverty, humility, and embracing suffering according to God's will. Mary is presented as a model of these virtues in welcoming the hardships of the journey and finding contentment in the manger.
The document discusses the concept of peace from several biblical perspectives. It explores finding peace through a relationship with God reconciled by Jesus, having peace with brethren and living peaceably with all people. Several bible verses are presented that discuss peace being a fruit of the spirit, having peace with God through faith, pursuing peace with others, and Jesus offering peace in this world.
1. The passage describes how sin separated humanity from communion with God, but that Jesus bridged the gulf through His merits.
2. It says Jesus is the appointed medium of communication between God and fallen humanity. Without Jesus, angels could not communicate with humans.
3. Jesus connects helpless humans to the source of God's infinite power. He makes spiritual communion possible once again.
The document provides an overview and analysis of the Book of Job from the Bible. It discusses that the Book of Job explores why righteous people suffer and helps readers understand that God is sovereign over all things, including what Satan can and cannot do. While the causes of individual suffering may remain unknown, God remains worthy of praise in all circumstances. The document also analyzes key themes and lessons from the Book of Job, such as how only faith in Jesus Christ can reconcile man with a holy God and overcome death.
In this lesson you will be reminded that Jesus came to save us by becoming a man, and living a sinless life.

1) The document discusses when the 70 weeks of years prophesied in Daniel 9:24 began. It argues they began with the decree of Artaxerxes in Ezra 7, which authorized Ezra to rebuild Jerusalem after the Jews returned from exile.
2) Key evidence provided includes that the decree specifically mentions rebuilding Jerusalem, not just the temple, and resulted in the Jews undertaking the construction of walls and foundations of the city.
3) The author analyzes the language in Daniel 9:25 and concludes the "word" referred to rebuilding the city, not an earlier decree concerning the temple, and must have been the decree of Artaxerxes recorded in Ezra.
This document contains several Bible verses from both the Old and New Testaments discussing the importance of being "born again" through faith in Jesus Christ. Key points include: all have sinned and fall short of God's glory (Romans 3:23, 5:12); one must confess faith in Jesus and believe in his resurrection to be saved (Romans 10:9-14); without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6); Jesus tells Nicodemus one must be "born of water and the Spirit" to enter God's kingdom (John 3:3-7). The document emphasizes salvation comes through faith in Christ, not works, and baptism symbolizes having a clean heart and right spirit
This document summarizes teachings from Our Daily Bread for January 4-24, 2016. It discusses Jesus praying in Gethsemane and feeling abandoned by God the Father, even though God was listening. It also discusses reaching out to lonely people and finding encouragement even in difficult times, like the apostle Paul did in prison. The document stresses starting prayer by focusing on God rather than our own concerns, and finding the best kind of happiness through salvation in Jesus Christ rather than always wanting our own way.

This document provides an analysis of the seven utterances spoken by Jesus from the cross as recorded in the Gospels. It divides the utterances into three groups: 1) The cry of abandonment when Jesus says "My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?" 2) The cry of victory when Jesus says "It is finished" and the veil of the temple is torn. 3) The cry of committal when Jesus says "Father, into thy hands I commit my spirit" and expires. The document explores the significance of Jesus crying out with a loud voice for some utterances and examines what each Gospel's emphasis adds to the overall picture of Jesus' last words.
True, crucial love looks like the Cross (Latin: crux). It consists of a vertical component (obedience to God in Christ) as well as horizontal component: self-sacrificially striving for another's ultimate good. We should love Jesus and love like Jesus because He first loved us
This document provides a 4-step guide to developing a close bond with Christ: 1) Read the Bible daily to learn about God and apply its teachings; 2) Pray constantly in sincerity to communicate with God and seek his help; 3) Fast regularly by depriving yourself of food/drink to focus spiritually and grow stronger in faith; 4) Sing praises to God through music, poetry and dance to glorify, worship and commune with him. Following these steps will help maintain a relationship with Christ through good and bad times and prepare for eternal life.
The rosary is prayed using beads and prayers focused on the mysteries of Jesus' life. It involves making the sign of the cross and reciting the Apostles' Creed, followed by sets of Our Fathers, Hail Marys, and Glory Bes while meditating on the Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious, and Luminous Mysteries of Christ's life. The prayers are recited on beads that represent the decades of the mysteries. At the end, the Hail Holy Queen is recited.
The document summarizes key aspects of the Gospel of John, including:
- Jesus' identity is more plainly affirmed as Son of God compared to the synoptic gospels. John's eschatology focuses on eternal life rather than the kingdom of God.
- Jesus makes seven "I AM" statements that reveal his identity to believers. Additional statements also imply his divinity.
- Jesus' signs bear witness to who he is and bring people to faith. His last discourse emphasizes unity among believers through love.
- The role of the Holy Spirit/Advocate is to help and convict. Eternal life is available now to those who believe. Jesus' crucifixion is his glor
The document discusses the meaning and significance of Christmas. It explains that Christmas commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ and provides biblical references establishing Jesus as the son of God and savior of mankind. The key message is that all people are sinners deserving of hell, but Jesus paid the penalty for sins through his death on the cross for those who believe in him. To be saved, one needs only faith in Jesus, not good works, though faith will be shown through good works.

Truth has power. We must be careful that we are sincere and truthful in our relationship with our brethren. We must speak the truth, not opinion; remember that we are brothers and not be selfish; our speech must be constructive not destructive; we must be gentle not harsh. There is a time to be silent and a time to speak.
Salvation is a free gift from God that cannot be earned through good works. It is only obtained through faith in Jesus Christ. While people are sinful and fall short of God's standards, Jesus paid the penalty for sins so all that is required is believing in Him. Good deeds do not earn salvation which comes solely through God's grace and mercy.
Paul and Joshua remind us that although we may sometimes fail in our obedience to God, we can return to joy and victory if we will 1) Overcome our sense of failure; 2) Return to Full Obedience; and 3) Trust in God’s Complete Forgiveness.

Generally, we abhor the attitude of minimalism (What’s the least I can do....?) because it leads to mediocrity and complacency. Have we arrived at that place with regard to our attitude about worship? This is not about how long we worship, but our love for God and our brethren and our desire to be with Him and them. Are we so concerned about the time that we find ourselves missing out on the blessings of building up one another?
The document provides an overview of what the church is and examines three key facets of the church: its essence, marks, and function. Regarding the church's essence, it discusses how the church is essentially a group of people called by God through grace, as seen in both the Old and New Testaments. The church owes its existence to God's call alone. The document explores biblical passages that demonstrate how the people of God form one continuous community from the Old Testament to the present.
Perfection is really our true self, A lowering & yet a full restoration to a realising of our perfection. The anointing of our Most Holy Place. The end of all flesh, which will be the end of all mortality.
Can we know absolutely whether something is right or wrong? What is our standard of morality? The only absolute standard we can have is to look back to the one who created us and imitate Him. We know right and wrong because it is the very character of God.

It outlines the differences between being born physically and being born of God spiritually. Finally, it gives steps on how to be born again by believing in Jesus, and signs that indicate someone has been born again, such as knowing you belong to God and stopping sin. Lucid Dreaming: Understanding the Risks and Benefits
The ability to control one's dreams or for the dreamer to be aware that he or she is dreaming. This process, called lucid dreaming, has some potential risks as well as many fascinating benefits. However, many people are hesitant to try it initially for fear of the potential dangers. This article aims to clarify these concerns by exploring both the risks and benefits of lucid dreaming.
The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming allows a person to take control of their dream world, helping them overcome their fears and eliminate nightmares. This technique is particularly useful for mental health. By taking control of their dreams, individuals can face challenging scenarios in a controlled environment, which can help reduce anxiety and increase self-confidence.
Addressing Common Concerns
Physical Harm in Dreams Lucid dreaming is fundamentally safe. In a lucid dream, everything is a creation of your mind. Therefore, nothing in the dream can physically harm you. Despite the vividness and realness of the dream experience, it remains entirely within your mental landscape, posing no physical danger.
Mental Health Risks Concerns about developing PTSD or other mental illnesses from lucid dreaming are unfounded. As soon as you wake up, it's clear that the events experienced in the dream were not real. On the contrary, lucid dreaming is often seen as a therapeutic tool for conditions like PTSD, as it allows individuals to reframe and manage their thoughts.
Potential Risks of Lucid Dreaming
While generally safe, lucid dreaming does come with a few risks as well:
Mixing Dream Memories with Reality Long-term lucid dreamers might occasionally confuse dream memories with real ones, creating false memories. This issue is rare and preventable by maintaining a dream journal and avoiding lucid dreaming about real-life people or places too frequently.
Escapism Using lucid dreaming to escape reality can be problematic if it interferes with your daily life. While it is sometimes beneficial to escape and relieve the stress of reality, relying on lucid dreaming for happiness can hinder personal growth and productivity.
Feeling Tired After Lucid Dreaming Some people report feeling tired after lucid dreaming. This tiredness is not due to the dreams themselves but often results from not getting enough sleep or using techniques that disrupt sleep patterns. Taking breaks and ensuring adequate sleep can prevent this.
Mental Exhaustion Lucid dreaming can be mentally taxing if practiced excessively without breaks. It’s important to balance lucid dreaming with regular sleep to avoid mental fatigue.
Lucid dreaming is safe and beneficial if done with caution. It has many benefits, such as overcoming fear and improving mental health, and minimal risks. There are many resources and tutorials available for those interested in trying it.
Lição 12: João 15 a 17 – O Espírito Santo e a Oração Sacerdotal | 2° Trimestr...OmarBarrezueta1

Introduction
Mantra Yoga is an exact science. "Mananat trayate iti mantrah- by the Manana (constant thinking or recollection) of which one is protected or is released from the round of births and deaths, is Mantra." That is called Mantra by the meditation (Manana) on which the Jiva or the individual soul attains freedom from sin, enjoyment in heaven and final liberation, and by the aid of which it attains in full the fourfold fruit (Chaturvarga), i.e., Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha. A Mantra is so called because it is achieved by the mental process.
The pervasiveness of Lying in today's World.pptxniwres
In our interconnected world, lies weave through the fabric of society like hidden threads. We encounter them in politics, media, personal relationships, and even within ourselves. The prevalence of deception raises profound questions about truth, trust, and the human condition.
Astronism, Cosmism and Cosmodeism: the space religions espousing the doctrine...Cometan
This lecture created by Brandon Taylorian (aka Cometan) specially for the CESNUR Conference held Bordeaux in June 2024 provides a brief introduction to the legacy of religious and philosophical thought that Astronism emerges from, namely the discourse on transcension started assuredly by the Cosmists in Russia in the mid-to-late nineteenth century and then carried on and developed by Mordecai Nessyahu in Cosmodeism in the twentieth century. Cometan also then provides some detail on his story in founding Astronism in the early twenty-first century from 2013 along with details on the central Astronist doctrine of transcension. Finally, the lecture concludes with some contributions made by space religions and space philosophy and their influences on various cultural facets in art, literature and film.

The Book of Revelation, filled with symbolic and apocalyptic imagery, presents one of its most striking visions in Revelation 9:3-12—the locust army. Understanding the significance of this locust army provides insight into the broader themes of divine judgment, protection, and the ultimate triumph of God’s will as depicted in Revelation.
