1. E-commerce strategy
• Not only special offers and featured products,
  shopper also find some recommendations
• Know customer very very well
• Multi-leveled e-commerce
• The sales of merchandise sold directly
• Linked with other websites: customer has many
  chooses
• Affiliate program with anybody
2. Amazon technology
• Running in entirely Linux-based and is the world’s
  three largest Linux database
• The data warehouse is classified into 3 functions:
   – Query
   – Historical
   – ETL (extract, transform, load)
• Employs the Netscape Secure Commerce Server
  using the SSL protocol
3. Amazon auction
• User can provide their own product to auctioned
• They can sell their stuff to the highest bidder
• Buyer can see if someone else is selling the product
  for less in one of the other chanels.
4. Amazon Advantage
• Place where people can sell new books, music,
  movies
• Amazon handles the entire sales transaction from start
  to finish
• The company takes a 55% commission on each sale
• Something like a consignment setup, a sales avenue
  who create their own CDs or book are easily to
  looking a way to get it out
5.Customer Tracking
• Using the data collected on every registered user,
  Amazon points user to products they might be glad to
  discover
• The product is recommended are:
   – Similar to what you’re currently searching
   – Related to what you’re searched
   – Purchase by another people who’ve searched for what
     you’re searching for or have bought
6.Amazon Community
• Place where people provide information themselves
  to other user
• Write their own review, recommendations…
• “So you’d Like To..” guides and “Listmania” lists
  base on Amazon’s product offerings.
• Can make any sort of list you want and any user can
  view and rate it
7.Conclusion
• Amazon is the most largest e-commerce in the world
• It’s base on:
   –   High technology and friendly with user
   –   Reasonable strategy, good customer service
   –   Fast transport service and cheap
   –   A lot of utility for user
   –   Discount policy in reasonable time
