A lion is a warm-blooded mammal that is born with fur and drinks milk from its mother. It is a member of the cat family. Lions have a mixture of brown, gold, black, and white fur and male lions have longer hair around their necks called a mane. Lions live in prides of up to 15 members in Africa and enjoy head rubbing, licking, and purring when lying down together.
