COWORKING SPACE IS CHARACTERIZED BY SHARED FACILITIES, DEVICES, AND
TOOLS.
INDIA IS THE SECOND LARGEST JUST AFTER THE UNITED STATES WITH 2200
COWORKING STATIONS
IT IS A GROWING SECTOR IN INDIA AND TO BE MORE SPECIFIC ( BANGLORE,
MUMBAI, INDORE, HYDRABAD )
IT HAS GAIN ITS POPULARITY AFTER THE PANDEMIC AS COMPANIES REALIZED
THAT THEY DON’T HAVE TO SPEND A HUGE CHUNK OF MONEY ALONG WITH
LONG TERM CONTRACTS.

1. The co-working industry is expected to reach a valuation of $2.2 billion by 2022.
2. India's co-working space market is all set to pass 50 million square ft by 2023.
4. In 2020, 75,000 seats in flexible spaces were leased in India.
5. The potential market size of coworking stands in the range of 12-16 million across India.
6. India has incredibly large co-operating formats spanning approximately 50,000 sq feet in comparison to the world
average of 7,000 sq feet.
7. Co-working space market lease is estimated up to 10 Million sq. ft. across India from 2014 to 2020.
In 2021, India is ranked #2 globally for having the most coworking spaces. The number amounts to 2,197.

of flexible spaces into India's total office stock

DATA ANALYSIS
FINDINGS
The evolution of coworking spaces in India will witness collaborative work culture as a boon for
businesses to gain attraction and faster growth.
With the rise of coworking spaces, the traditional workplaces are seeing a change in people’s
perception towards work and the way they work.
The coworking sector in India has come a long way from being a niche sector catering to a niche
audience to being a sector that has the potential to provide co-working spaces to a majority of
blue collar workers in India.
CONCLUSION
The Indian economy is on a high growth rate and the rush for business has never been greater.
With this upsurge in business needs, there are associated challenges for small businesses.
Finding larger spaces, which are affordable and secure, the right resources for growth are their
priorities. Offices are getting overcrowded and rents are skyrocketing.
Hence, startups are opting for coworking space as it provides the environment to focus on
work, networking opportunities with people who are passionate about similar work, and high-
speed internet, all while being cost-effective.
