Skåne, located in southern Sweden, is the center of innovation for the Öresund region. Two new world-class research facilities, the European Spallation Source (ESS) and MAX IV Laboratory, are being built there. These facilities will allow scientists to study material structures down to the atomic level and will support industries like automotive, aerospace, energy, and life sciences. The facilities are expected to benefit society through new materials for energy storage, medical devices, and more.
