Doctor Faustus and Courtney both had a strong desire for knowledge but took wrong paths to attain it. Doctor Faustus sold his soul to Lucifer in exchange for 24 years of knowledge and magic, while Courtney experimented on herself by inducing clinical death to learn about the afterlife. Both were warned about the dangers but did not listen. In the end, both realized their mistakes too late and died, with Lucifer taking Faustus' soul and Courtney being killed by her own sister's ghost.

the Most Knowledgeable man
in this earth.
 He want to gain as much
knowledge as god has and by
this he wants to compare him
self with God
 Courtney wanted to know
what is after death.
 She wanted to be the worlds
first specialist in afterlife.

5. Took Wrong way to be knowledgeable
 Doctor Faustus took the help of Necromancy to summon
Mephistopheles and then Lucifer.
 He wanted Mephistopheles to be his slave and give his service
to Faustus for 24 years and in return Faustus will give his
soul after 24 years.
 Faustus wanted to him to answer every question and solve
any problem of his anytime when he want.

 Courtney wanted to know what is after death and where
our soul goes after we die.
 Her way to research on this subject was wrong, she
herself Died in order to know what is after life.
 when she died she saw the things where she never went
and thus she was successful in her experiment.
 Her friend revived her thus she came back to life.

Good angle warned Faustus
and told him not to sign the
Deal with Lucifer.
 Dr. Ray is the only one
person who said no to others
for doing this experiments on
themselves.

o Faustus started doing Magic and the audience started
getting the impression of a Joker or a Court entertainer.
oHe Forgot the main motive of selling his soul to Lucifer.
oCourtney became knowledgeable after coming back to life.
oEvery single thing ever read by her or seen by her is now
popping out of her mind. She is now able to answer
everything

9. Realization and consequences of mistake
 At the end of 24 years Faustus
realized that he has no more time.
he came to know that he didn’t got
any of the knowledge for which he
gave his life to lucifer.
 Courtney started seeing thing which she
is not suppose to see as a normal human
being.
 This is the consequences of the
experiment that she is now seeing DEAD
in this real world.

10. Dies in the end
 Lucifer came in the end and
took Faustus’s Soul to burn in the
fire of hell for perpetual time.
 Faustus didn’t got the time to
ask for forgiveness from god.
 Ghost of her own sister killed
Courtney.
 She didn’t got the time to complete the
video she was recording. For her friends.

11. Similarity of both characters
 Both the character had a strong desire for Knowledge.
 Both took a wrong way to be knowledgeable.
Both were warned by good persons.
Both realized their mistake at the end.
Both died in the end.

12. Conclusion
 So we can see the similarities In the characters of
Doctor Faustus and Courtney with this point and we can
also see the downfall of human being by taking a wrong
path for being knowledgeable. Any kind of shortcut will
never do a good effect on the over all work.
