Dolo is located in northern Italy along the Brenta River, with the city center situated on both banks of the river and two separate villages north and south of the river. There are several hypotheses for the origin of Dolo's name, including it first appearing in a document from 1241 or Venice sending people there in the 400s. Dolo is associated with "Storti", referring to the famous wheat bread cones used for whipped cream, not implying residents are physically twisted. Dolo also contains notable villas like Villa Angeli and Villa Goedzen as well as historic mills.
