- 3. GENDER BIAS Gender bias is the tendency to prefer one gender over another. Assumption of one gender is of higher power than other gender. Unequal treatment of men and women because of the gender.
- 4. Gender bias in educational institution Girl have been discriminated against in terms of various aspects to their male counter parts. Boys get more attention and participation in class room activities , sports compared to girls students. Girls get less participation opportunities compared to boys. Teachers should provide equal opportunities to girls and boys.
- 5. Gender bias in curriculum Curriculum does not include subject of specific Gender. The curriculum does not encourage or support any genders. Mathematics and science are considered as male oriented and humanities and language consider as female oriented subjects. Equal opportunities to both genders are not promise in physical education. Revise textbook and learning materials to become gender sensitive.
- 6. Gender bias in textbook. The images used in a textual content indicate bias towards a gender. There is less the number of the chapters written by woman in textbook. More examples of male characters than female characters. Make a balance in textual materials written by male and Female authors.
