At Google Business Group (GBG) Kathmandu, Nepal's biggest startup meet, I gave a presentation to Startups on how Amazon has been supporting Global Startups with its activate program, support and training to kickstart, grow and scale their businesses and how various startup businesses have also leveraged this opportunity in Nepal . I adjourned the session encouraging startups in Nepal to apply for the activate program explaining them the criteria and procedure for application.

I gave a presentation to the government officials of Province 1 on the topic 'Pathways to Creating Jobs in ICT by Building Strong Collaboration' by citing an example of India where the Narendra Modi Government is building Cloud First Approach to empower India and how the country's various states are complying to this with several examples such as Manipur state confronting a costly & inefficient on premise Data Center by shifting to AWS Cloud and likewise Maharastra State using AWS Capabilities to digitize information technology in various state departments . Moving to cloud has largely increased the efficiency of businesses in India and I thus encouraged the Nepal government to do the same. In a nutshell, the event was a huge success with Nepali Government Officials in province 1 showing a keen interest to move their workload to cloud by inquiring about the detailed procedures.

I gave a presentation on Pathways To Creating Jobs in ICT In Province 3 addressing the issues that our country is facing like the gap between academia and industry and an increase in brain drain in search of better opportunities. And through my presentation , I proposed a solution on how education and jobs in ICT can help combat this problem. I introduced AWS Educate & how about 30,000 institutions are enrolled globally to AWS Educate including Harvard,Oxford and also about 15 institutions in Nepal. I also introduced AWS Certification Courses and the sell-ability of those courses worldwide informing that these courses are also taught in Nepal. In addition to that, I informed the attending officials about the AWS Future Skills Program which aims to reskill 2 million professionals &potential employees, AWS Re-Start Program which prepares unemployed & underemployed individuals for cloud careers through classroom based training and AWS Activate- which provides cloud credit to startup businesses. All in all, the session was a fruitful one with the attending officials showing great interest in implementing the ideas to develop and retain talents in our country Nepal.
