The document discusses arguments against government regulations on limiting salt consumption. It notes that salt is essential to human life and maintains balance in the body. Factors like stress, poor nutrition, and genetics can lower dopamine levels and increase sensitivity to highly processed foods, making overeating more likely and weight loss more difficult.
The document discusses eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder based on their classification in the DSM-IV-TR. It then examines different approaches to preventive intervention for eating disorders, including disease-specific pathways, non-specific vulnerability-stressors, and feminist empowerment relational models. Finally, it analyzes a controlled study on a middle school primary prevention program that aimed to reduce dietary restraint and preoccupation with shape and weight through a 6-week curriculum and 12-month follow up.
Junk food and certain foods can be addictive due to their chemical properties. They contain compounds like sugar, fat, and salt that stimulate the brain's reward system in a similar way to drugs. When eaten frequently, these foods can cause changes in brain activity and behavior resembling addiction. The document discusses how foods high in fructose and grains/dairy containing opioid peptides are particularly implicated in addictive properties and negative health effects.
The document discusses eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. It covers the characteristics, etiology, complications, treatment and nursing care for those suffering from these disorders. Anorexia has a high mortality rate and causes issues like osteoporosis and heart problems from malnutrition. Bulimia involves binge eating and purging, with risks such as electrolyte imbalances. Treatment requires a multidisciplinary approach including medical stabilization, psychotherapy, and addressing the psychosocial factors contributing to the disorders. Nurses play a key role in providing a supportive environment, education, and setting limits to help patients gain weight and break unhealthy cycles of behavior.

This document discusses different approaches to weight loss and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It outlines the typical cycle people go through when dieting, which often leads to short-term weight loss but long-term weight gain. It then describes different levels or stages people can be at in their approach: not working (given up), easy work (looking for quick fixes), hard work (restrictive dieting), and right work (addressing underlying issues). The right work involves learning about your relationship with food and finding sustainable habits, which leads to long-term weight maintenance compared to the yo-yo effect of restrictive dieting. The document advocates an approach focused on lifestyle changes rather than short-term diets.

Rapid, safe, lasting weight loss is now within your reach!
The Silhouette Solution program is the first weight loss program that will work for you where all other weight loss programs have failed. Period. That’s a strong statement. The document introduces the Eat More, Weigh Less Diet which claims that eating more food can help people lose weight. It asserts that scientific evidence shows that most people are overweight because they do not eat enough foods that satisfy their hunger, leaving them craving unhealthy foods. The diet teaches selecting foods based on an "Eat More Index" to find foods that fill you up. Several success stories are provided of people who lost significant weight while eating more on this diet.
This document summarizes three common lies that are said to keep people fat: 1) deceptive food advertising of "diet" foods that are high in sugar, fat, and calories, 2) ineffective exercise products and routines advertised through infomercials that promise spot fat reduction, and 3) weight loss supplements that claim to burn fat without diet or exercise but provide only temporary results. It encourages avoiding scams and adopting a metabolism-boosting lifestyle for sustainable fat loss of 1-2 pounds per week.
This document discusses healthy and sustainable approaches to weight loss compared to restrictive fad diets. It emphasizes creating a lifestyle of healthy eating and exercise through calorie counting using tools like MyFitnessPal. Fad diets are not recommended as they are very restrictive, eliminate food groups, often cause weight regain and can interfere with metabolism. Instead, a balanced calorie reduction of 500 calories per day through mindful eating and tracking is suggested to lose 1 pound per week safely. Supplements may provide additional support. The key is finding a sustainable lifestyle approach rather than quick fixes from fad diets.

It describes the author's 35-year struggle with weight loss, trying various diets and exercise plans that failed. This chapter provides strategies for changing beverage choices to support weight loss. It recommends drinking green tea, coffee, water, and smoothies made with nutritious ingredients instead of sugary drinks. Green tea and coffee may boost metabolism slightly. Drinking 8 glasses of water per day can increase calorie burning as the body heats water. Fruit infused water is suggested as a lower calorie alternative to fruit juice. Replacing high calorie snacks and meals with nutritious smoothies can help lose weight without feeling deprived. Making small changes to beverage choices is one of the easiest ways to begin losing weight.

Cell Therapy Expansion and Challenges in Autoimmune DiseaseHealth Advances
There is increasing confidence that cell therapies will soon play a role in the treatment of autoimmune disorders, but the extent of this impact remains to be seen. Early readouts on autologous CAR-Ts in lupus are encouraging, but manufacturing and cost limitations are likely to restrict access to highly refractory patients. Allogeneic CAR-Ts have the potential to broaden access to earlier lines of treatment due to their inherent cost benefits, however they will need to demonstrate comparable or improved efficacy to established modalities.
In addition to infrastructure and capacity constraints, CAR-Ts face a very different risk-benefit dynamic in autoimmune compared to oncology, highlighting the need for tolerable therapies with low adverse event risk. CAR-NK and Treg-based therapies are also being developed in certain autoimmune disorders and may demonstrate favorable safety profiles. Several novel non-cell therapies such as bispecific antibodies, nanobodies, and RNAi drugs, may also offer future alternative competitive solutions with variable value propositions.
Widespread adoption of cell therapies will not only require strong efficacy and safety data, but also adapted pricing and access strategies. At oncology-based price points, CAR-Ts are unlikely to achieve broad market access in autoimmune disorders, with eligible patient populations that are potentially orders of magnitude greater than the number of currently addressable cancer patients. Developers have made strides towards reducing cell therapy COGS while improving manufacturing efficiency, but payors will inevitably restrict access until more sustainable pricing is achieved.
Despite these headwinds, industry leaders and investors remain confident that cell therapies are poised to address significant unmet need in patients suffering from autoimmune disorders. However, the extent of this impact on the treatment landscape remains to be seen, as the industry rapidly approaches an inflection point.
Local Advanced Lung Cancer: Artificial Intelligence, Synergetics, Complex Sys...Oleg Kshivets
Overall life span (LS) was 1671.7±1721.6 days and cumulative 5YS reached 62.4%, 10 years – 50.4%, 20 years – 44.6%. 94 LCP lived more than 5 years without cancer (LS=2958.6±1723.6 days), 22 – more than 10 years (LS=5571±1841.8 days). 67 LCP died because of LC (LS=471.9±344 days). AT significantly improved 5YS (68% vs. 53.7%) (P=0.028 by log-rank test). Cox modeling displayed that 5YS of LCP significantly depended on: N0-N12, T3-4, blood cell circuit, cell ratio factors (ratio between cancer cells-CC and blood cells subpopulations), LC cell dynamics, recalcification time, heparin tolerance, prothrombin index, protein, AT, procedure type (P=0.000-0.031). Neural networks, genetic algorithm selection and bootstrap simulation revealed relationships between 5YS and N0-12 (rank=1), thrombocytes/CC (rank=2), segmented neutrophils/CC (3), eosinophils/CC (4), erythrocytes/CC (5), healthy cells/CC (6), lymphocytes/CC (7), stick neutrophils/CC (8), leucocytes/CC (9), monocytes/CC (10). Correct prediction of 5YS was 100% by neural networks computing (error=0.000; area under ROC curve=1.0).
ABDOMINAL TRAUMA in pediatrics part one.drhasanrajab
Abdominal trauma in pediatrics refers to injuries or damage to the abdominal organs in children. It can occur due to various causes such as falls, motor vehicle accidents, sports-related injuries, and physical abuse. Children are more vulnerable to abdominal trauma due to their unique anatomical and physiological characteristics. Signs and symptoms include abdominal pain, tenderness, distension, vomiting, and signs of shock. Diagnosis involves physical examination, imaging studies, and laboratory tests. Management depends on the severity and may involve conservative treatment or surgical intervention. Prevention is crucial in reducing the incidence of abdominal trauma in children.

2. More than 60% of people are overweight or obese. If
that’s you, you probably have a food addiction. There
are reasons why the more you diet the fatter you get.
Sadly, despite all the evidence, we still believe diets
work.
3. We believe they are the only solution to weight loss.
So we treat our Weight gains with a diets, instead of
curing THE CAUSE of the weight gains, - food addiction.
The weight will always return till we cure our food
addiction.
4. We diet because we are told it works. Self-proclaimed
experts have had forty years to prove we can lose
weight for good by dieting. They have failed. The only
people who benefit are those who profit from our food
addiction.
5. If we can’t lose the weight for good, where is the logic
in a diet? Because it is clear the weight always returns.
Each time we end up fatter than before. The proof is
everywhere. Forty years ago diets were for sick people.
6. We forget so quickly. We want diets to work because
what else is there? Diets address the weight problem
and that’s reassuring. But it’s only a band aid. The
weight will always return because our food addiction is
still there.
7. The truth is: If you try to lose weight through diet and
exercise – the journey won’t be easy. But if you persist
you will get a weight loss. The tragedy is: It’s all
wasted. The weight WILL return till you cure your food
addiction.
8. So how do you get a fast, extreme weight loss by curing
your food addiction? Simple! You cure your food
addiction. This is an addiction like any other. It can be
cured. That’s the good news. The bad news? No one
wants you to cure it.
9. Why? Just think “tobacco industry”! This is a “big
Business” addiction. Food addiction is the backbone of
the biggest industry in the world. It is also the
mainstay for the diet and food industries. Without
food addiction there’s no food industry.
10. I advise you to get the full story. There will be a link
below to take you there. Do not let the food industry
turn your kids into food addicts.
