1. ABOUT COLLEGE
Potti Sriramulu Chalavadi Mallikarjuna Rao College of Engineering and Technology,
Vijayawada-01, Andhra Pradesh, affiliated to JNTU Kakinada and accredited by NBA and
NAAC, is a contemporary contribution of the SKPVV Hindu High Schools Committee (founded
in 1906) to serve the poor and needy through education with a new discipline in the sphere of
Engineering and Technology. The Committee, a non-profit academic organization, had been
successfully managing schools and arts and science institutions until 2008. And thereafter, the
Committee expanded its educational services to include technical education, resulting in the
founding of PSCMR College of Engineering & Technology that same year. This is, by far, the
first such institute within the city limits of Vijayawada. The institution, which is affiliated with
JNTU Kakinada, began with 240 students, 60 in each of the branches of ECE, CSE, EEE, and IT.
The MBA course was added the following year, with steady improvement. Currently, new
computer science courses such as CSD, CSM, CAI, CSO, CIC, and M.Tech in CSD are being
launched, and the college is thriving with over 3000 students and 200 faculty members. In its
fourth year of functioning, the college with a high student success rate was able to provide
quality placements for all qualified candidates. Students are encouraged to participate in paid
internships beginning in their second year. The Institute has initiated a practice known as
'Bodhana-Sadhana-Praveenya' by signing Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with
government and non-government entities, as well as with various academic institutions, to
participate in training programmes, certification programmes, project work, and internships.
Through incubation centers and facilities like as E-Yantra and HLABS, students are encouraged
to work on ideas in collaboration with industries. IoT labs are now accessible on campus to help
students sharpen their technical skills in the latest technology. The Placement Cell provides
students with 100% placement support, allowing them to create long-term careers in prominent
organizations. CRT is provided to our student’s right from the first year in the areas of English
Communication Skills, Aptitude, and Reasoning by specially selected domain experts. Students
are placed in reputed MNCs such as Oracle, TCS, Infosys, Cyient, Deloitte, HCL, Accenture,
Cognizant, Wipro and Glenwood Systems, Apex, and others with the assistance of all
departments. PSCMR has gained numerous honors, including the Limca Book of Records in
2015, the ICT Academy in 2018, the Internshala Award in 2018, the Education Barron Award,
and participation in the Guinness Book of World Records. The college aim is to provide students

2. with social and career education that will benefit themselves and society. Every year, the
Management awards the meritorious students with scholarships. Every year, the sponsors award
8 grams of pure gold coins to the branch toppers. With a user-friendly approach, our Central
Library & Information Centre meets the information and intellectual needs of its students and
faculty. Our library operations have been computerized with the Ez library software suite. "Scan
and Learn" practice allows students and professors to access digital content such as e-books and
e-journals online. It provides a completely integrated and dynamic atmosphere for academic
studies. The mentoring system monitors and advises students at various levels on their
performance and activities. A sophisticated computer lab facility is available to help both faculty
and students upgrade their technical skills. A separate hostel facility for ladies and boys is given
in a comfortable and secure environment. Aside from RTC buses, the college provides bus
service to students and teachers from various parts of Vijayawada and its outskirts. The College
offers a large canteen that serves hygienic cuisine at low cost. The RO water facility is open 24
hours a day, seven days a week. The campus features expansive lawns and meticulously
maintained plants, which provide a touch of natural beauty to the whole atmosphere. The college
campus is conveniently placed in the middle of the city, with easy access from everywhere in the
city, walking distance from the railway station, main bus station, and 30 kilometers from
Vijayawada International Airport. Excellent indoor and outdoor stadium enable students to
participate in sports. PSCMR takes great pleasure in creating a community that values diversity.
