He completed works in over 20 churches across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Berkshire, ranging from full new builds to restorations and additions. Street had a respect for medieval architecture and incorporated traditional designs and materials like tile work, screens, and carved decorations in his church projects. Many of his church designs from this period still stand and are well preserved today.

The Museum of the deportation of Jews and of the resistance in Mechelen, Belgium created an exhibition of portraits of the over 1,200 people deported on Transport XX, one of the trains to Auschwitz, on April 19, 1943. The portraits were displayed along the railway tracks in Mechelen and later in Cologne where the deportation trains traveled. Transport XX was notable as the largest transport of 1,636 people, including 242 children, and the first to use goods wagons instead of passenger carriages to deport Jews and Roma to Nazi extermination camps from Belgium during World War II.
