DOCTOR PATIENT RELATIONSHIP
 Doctor and patient relationship is an emotional association between the doctor and patient Which
arises when the doctor interacts with a patient to alleviate their sufferings and prevent illness.
 The Doctor and The Patient are on two opposite ends
 The Doctor has a high level of knowledge on a problem the patient almost knows nothing about
 The Doctor is often mechanistic (find and fix approach)
 The patient is concern with illness (disruption of life)
 But its entirely different from mechanic-client relationship
THE PROBLEMS ARISING IN A DOCTOR-
PATIENT RELATIONSHIP
 A doctor ignoring patient input in their decision making.
 Disorganization at a doctor’s office.
 A doctor withholding relevant information.
 A doctor giving off the impression of not respecting a patient.
 Poor communication between a doctor and patient.
 A doctor discouraging second opinions.
DEVELOPMENT OF INTERNET IN THE HEALTH
CARE SYSTEM
Health-related websites are expanding consumer access to medical information
Using the Internet, consumers are empowered to: -
1. Quickly and easily obtain health information
2. 2. Self diagnose
3. Decide for themselves which symptoms or conditions need a consultation or office visit with a
physician and which can be self-treated
As the use of the Internet for health information becomes more widespread, risk to the overall
consumer quality of care increase
1. Resulting from incorrect or misleading information
2. Resulting from a growing number of health consumers who will stop consulting physicians
IMPORTANCE OF GENETICS IN SOCIOLOGY
 Sociology is the study of society human evolution, their behaviour and their development and so
on. It also studies genetics and sexual behaviour which can be considered as one of the most
important branches of Biology. As Biology is related with the biological development of living
organisms, the biological development of human beings also come under it.
 Human behaviour is influenced or affected by heredity or gene which is studied in Biology.
Sociology also studies human behaviour likewise one of the major concerns of sociology is
marriage that is also based on Biology.
 Herbert Spencer explained his theory of the evolution of society on the principle of natural
evolution. So, nature and society are very close to each other.
