Prenuptial health examination (PHE) aims to screen for several health issues in future couples. It seeks to early detect sexually transmitted diseases, reproductive problems, hereditary illnesses, and provide family planning counseling. Through PHE, necessary interventions can be ensured to prevent disease spread between couples and support successful fertilization and fertility. Clinical and paraclinical examinations evaluate medical history to assess infectious, genetic, obstetric, lifestyle, and immunization risks. Physical exams focus on the reproductive system while paraclinical exams include screening for conditions like STDs, blood-related issues, and infectious diseases.

2. PHE AS SCREENING ISSUES
Prenuptial health examination (PHE) is a preventive
health measure to :
 1) Early detect sexually-transmitted diseases
(STD),

 3) Hereditary illness which may pass to offspring,

4. When should a couple seek premarital
counseling?
The following criteria has been suggested by the
California association for marriage family therapist:
 When you are a young and have never been married
 When one partner is commitment phobic
 When a couple can not resolve significant conflicts
 When one or both partners have had a previously
failed marriage.
 A history of childhood abuse or domestic violence
