Upendra Bhanja was a 17th-century Odia poet and composer considered the greatest poet in Odia literature. He wrote famous works like Baidehisa Bilasa, Labanyabati, and Koti Brahmanda Sundari. Born into a royal family, he received a thorough education in Sanskrit literature and composed music central to Odissi traditions.
