• Tripod to keep the camera stable, more expensive productions may use pedestals, crane,dolly, gimbals or a
track.
• Cameras- an obvious part to filming to be able to gain footage
• Lighting- a basic 3 point lighting kit can be used to appropriately set the lighting to fit with a scene.
• Different lenses for the camera to allow for different shots or angles
• Sound equipment, microphones or a boom with a microphone on it to be able to hear sound
• Hard drives/ SD cards to keep filmed footage safe.
• Specialty gear for the more interesting shots- such as a drone for more cinematic shots

• Film studio- film studios are used to set up a basic set so it is secluded from the outside
and can focus on filming, these can then be set up different to the needs of the film, and
can be re used again and again instead of travelling to different locations
• Sound studios- sound studios are used from adding diegetic sounds such as sound effects
and non diegetic sounds such as music
• Locations- locations may have to be paid for to film so that there is permission to film
there, using location means that everything is already there and can be filmed whenever
and whatever conditions, which could save money in CGI and materials

4. Materials
• Mise en scene describes how stuff is put into a frame and arranged in a
certain way that helps display scene effectively. It is the setting, lighting, the
costumes and the behavior of the actors.
• Production design is the visual concept of a film or set and to create the
scene. Construction will then take place to build the set to the needs of the
filming.
• The prop master is an artistic and organisational role in a film. They are
responsible for obtaining the props for a production, as well as supervising
the need and use for them so they are available. They may need to purchase
or collect the props so they are there for use, some may even be free.

5. Post production
• Post production is everything done after filming to complete the final film to be distributed. This can
be things such as returning equipment, editing and compiling the movie together, and adding extra
sound to it, as well as re filming certain scenes if needed.
• Editing is one of the main things done in post production- this includes colour correction so colour is
consistent, adding sound and music, creating the CGI for parts of them movie, and stitching all the
clips together so that it is a full functioning movie.
