COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course develops critical thinking and problem-solving skills through qualitative research. In this course, the learners will produce a personal qualitative
research paper.
The learners should be able to…
1. explain the importance, characteristics, strengths, weaknesses, and kinds of qualitative research;
2. decide on suitable qualitative research in the different areas of interest;
3. formulate clearly the statement of research problem;
4. select, cite, and synthesize judiciously related literature and use sources according to ethical standards;
5. formulate clearly conceptual framework, research hypotheses (if appropriate), and define terms used in study;
6. describe adequately qualitative research designs, sample, instrument used, intervention (if applicable);
7. gather and analyze data with intellectual honesty, using suitable techniques;
8. form logical conclusions, make recommendations based on conclusions write and present clear report; and
9. present best design.

Attendance:
Face-to-Face
• Student who entered the classroom beyond the start of the class is considered late.
• 2 tardiness is considered 1 absent .
• 2 consecutive or non-consecutive absences are considered a probationary status (call parents or guardians or send students’ propbationary status in terms of attendance thru e-
mail or texrt message).
• Every students who are late and/or absent will write an excuse letter stating the reason of being late and/or absent with duly signature of parent/guardian and photocopy of
parent’s/guardian’s ID.
Online
• Video Streaming/Conferencing: Students who entered the video streaming or video conferencing beyond the specific start of the streaming or conferencing is considered late.
• Recorded or Suggested Video Online Presentation: Students should take note the the date and time that they started and ended playing and watching the video presentation/s.
• Every students who are late and/or absent will write an excuse letter stating the reason of being late and/or absent with duly signature of parent/guardian and photocopy of
parent’s/guardian’s ID and send them through online or send thru a text message that includes the complete name of the parent or guardian.
Module
• Students should take note the the date and time that they started and ended the weekly lesson/s or weekly module/s.
Outputs, Requirements, Group Presentation and Major Examinations
• Outputs can get the highest possible mark only if submitted on or before the due date.
• Late assigned works and/or tasks on a specified and agreed date will be subject to score deduction. Maximum of five (5) days of grace periods will be allowed for the submission
of requirements, otherwise it will be marked as ZERO.
(1 day = 5 points deduction; 2 days = 10 points deduction; 3 days = 15 points deduction; and 4-5 days = 20 points deduction).
• No late submission on the final date of submission of requirements or activities.
• Group presentations should be performed on the assigned date or it will be converted to a written report and can have a maximum grade of 85.
• Online exercises/activities should be completed on or before specified date and time. Note: Only one umak gmail account will be considered
• Face-to-Face: No special exams unless absence is excused by the prefect of discipline.
• Face-to-Face: Anyone caught cheating will be subjected to disciplinary action as determined by the prefect of discipline.

• Submission of exercises/activities and final requirements could either be thru e-mail or face-to-face.

• No eating and drinking inside the classrooms.
• Avoid unnecessary noise inside and outside the classroom.
• All cellphones shoud be turned off during the class session.
• Be respectful. Be honest. Be responsible. Be kind and gratefull.
• Leave the classroom neat and clean.
Online
• Positively greet everyone on chat box to start the engagement. Do not use chatbox with unnecessary messages or messages not related to the subjects or discussions. Chat is
used for greetings and for healthy conversations regarding the lessons.
• Dress casually, but appropriately (no sandos please)
• Don’t sweat your background too much. Look for a background that is not distracting and put away any personal items that might be embarrassing or you want to keep it
private.
• If you will use green background and personalized it using your own background, choose appropriate background for online streaming or conferencing.
• Make your face and facial expressions visible. If you are not comfortable for some cases please use appropriate and formal picture as your background with your complete
name.
• Limit your Distractions. Focus on the video streaming or conferencing (no multitasking).
• Mute your microphone if your surrounding is too noisy. You will only open your microphone during recitation or collaborative oral discussion.
• Be respectful. Be honest. Be responsible. Be kind and gratefull.
