Job Profile:
I worked as a IT Technology Consultant in JAVA applications Support project with
Sybase (An SAP COMPANY) from Nov 2007 to October 2014. This project has mainly
70% of the work related to database development (Sybase ASE) the tasks including
creating database stored procedures and cursors as part of the ticket solving and work on
all SQL statements and also work on Triggers, Transactions etc. 20% of the work related
to J2EE(Servelts, JSP and EJB) sometimes we need to go through the java code to fix
some tickets and 10% of the work related to Unix shell scripting to write new cron jobs(if
required), monitor them etc. Details about this project is given in the following
paragraphs.
We have around 40 Java based (Servlets, JSP and EJB) internal Sybase applications, my
job is to monitor their status of the applications during my shift and make sure they are
available with 98% up-time, we get NIMBUS alerts if some application is not accessible
then need to follow-up with WIT team to bounce the app servers (I also have experience
on working with EAServer 5.5 and 6 versions) to make the application accessible.
If there are any planned/unplanned outages then I need to work closely with DBA/WIT
Team to resolve those issues and also test affected the application before and after
DBA/WIT Team fixed it and notify the customers for the outages before and after the
issue arises.

3. Apart from the above role, I also solve tickets (Incidents) that will be reported by
Customers (Sybase Internal Employees) while using the above said applications.
Customers will create Incidents with priority P1 to P4 (P1 – should be solved within 1
day, P2—should be solved within 2 days, P3—should be solved within 5 days and P4—
should be solved within 10 days). I worked on Service-now, IMS ticketing systems.
The solution range from simple fix by applying the ready-made solution by referring to
the Team Share Point site documentation to the complex ones like do the research on
Stored procedures and the Java code of the respective application and do root cause
analysis to fix the issues. I generally solve 25-30 incidents per month.
I also do the Problem management to do the root cause analysis and fix the frequently
occurring incidents.
I also worked on couple of RFC as part of change management to fix the issues raised by
customers that need to fix the code and do extensive test on test environment and go for
UAT (User Acceptance Test from Customers) and implement the change in Production
system through RFC (Request for Change).
I also review/update/add the solution documents from Share point for each application
regularly.
I work on creating database stored procedures and cursors as part of the ticket solving
and work on all SQL statements and also work on Triggers, Transactions etc.
I work on Unix jobs,start them and monitor them as part of this support project regularly.
I qualified on ITIL Foundation Examination on 5th July 2013.
This job requires good soft skills while handling issues of customers and understand and
