The document provides a review and critique of the Karen Kassebeer website (http://www.cheoylee.cn/en/home/yacht/). It finds that the website lacks visual appeal, has photos that are too small and static, and separates important information across multiple pages rather than integrating it onto one easy to navigate page. It provides several suggestions for improving the website such as adding video, increasing photo slideshow speed, providing more information on company history and services, and incorporating more social media presence and client testimonials. The review also critiques the website's reviews, contact page, lack of special offers, and bios of company team members.

1. Karen Kassebeer Website Review part I.
http://www.cheoylee.cn/en/home/yacht/
Overall critique of website:
Opening with a drab black & white snapshot isn’t inviting at
all. Look at how appealing this website starts off with crisp,
colorful snapshots: http://vanuatuyachtservices.com/ Plus,
Cheoy’s website depicts photos that are too small and lack
movement or integration for their three main services. As a
result, this forces the consumer to have to click to navigate,
which is a turn-off. It’s also a bad idea to separate the
history of the company because once I click on yachts; I get
only that and nothing else. Therefore, I suggest complete
integration of the 3 features: Yachts, Cheoy Lee Story, and
Commercial into one easy to navigate webpage. Looking at it
piece by piece, under the home page, I want to know about the
history of Cheoy, but what’s written lacks any excitement or
pizzazz, what makes them stand out from the rest?
Adding some video, as well as moving the slideshow of photos
that they do have (on the home page) faster would add excitement
to the website.
What all does this shipyard do? As I looked at other sites that
sell yachts, I want to know if Cheoy Lee offers charters. If
not, do they offer anything extra to their clients that their
competition doesn’t? Giving clients a lay out of all the
services offered is vital. In addition, I would also like to see
a little tour, right from my computer, perhaps a walk and talk
with the manager of Cheoy Lee around the Ft. Lauderdale office,
see that local shipyard, and have an article on their top
selling yachts. Furthermore, besides the reviews I see, it would
be great to have some blogs from staff members and also
testimonials from the clients.
I do not like how the reviews are arranged. The yachts need to
be arranged so that the consumer, or interested buyer can find
what he or she likes, without having to click on every single
item. For example, what separates Serenity from an Alpha? We
need to help the client navigate better.
We definitely need to bring PR Power into the “news” section. A
YouTube channel or links to other social media sites would be
useful here. Also, what about a feature story written about a
client and his escapades with his yacht? The most important

social media suggestion I have is creating or linking the
website to the Face Book fan page. If there isn’t one for the
Ft. Lauderdale location, then to increase likes, I suggest that
the 100; 1,000; and 10,000th “like” has a chance of winning a
ipad, or some other gift that is popular right now, perhaps some
special gear for the yacht to make communication easier and
faster.
I found typos on their “contact us” page.
Does Cheoy ever have specials? If so, consumers love to hear
about these to. Moreover, a useful links tab would also be
beneficial for those clients new to South Florida, or those that
just sailed in on vacation. Lastly, a bio of the team would be a
nice touch since they stress the 4th generation family-oriented
fact. If people have been around a while at the local shipyard,
customers tend to love having a familiar, friendly face to serve
them through the years.
http://www.cl-alpha.com/
Good job using video! However, I feel like this site isn’t
reaching its full potential. First of all, under the home page,
we need to reduce the white space by creating a brief
descripting of each of the three different yachts. It’s great
that there is a link to the Cheoy Lee Shipyard. However, under
the awards tab, can they add a photo of the Alpha 76 Express,
and a picture of the Carlton Hotel and Cannes festival? This
award was in 2012, did anything positive happen for Alpha is
2013-14? Under the magazine articles tab, we need to add some
photos in the background. There is too much white space.
