Catholic Action is a particular lay vocation that involves a personal response to a call to holiness lived out in community. It stems from Christian initiation promises and is strengthened by participation in the Eucharist and exercising love and forgiveness. As a lay vocation, Catholic Action has a missionary spirit, diocesan character, and serves unity and lay identity. Members live communally while remaining faithful to the bishop, priests, and other ecclesial associations. The vocation requires commitment to growing the Christian community through pastoral projects and spreading the Gospel. It is a call to holiness through living the Gospel radically in everyday life and creating a network of fraternity, especially for those most in need.
