The third graders at Casady School conducted a service-learning project where they learned about fair trade chocolate and different charities. They sold fair trade chocolate bars and got to decide which charities would receive the profits. The project involved four main components - learning about fair trade and charities, promoting the chocolate sale to the school, selling the chocolate, and selecting which charities would receive the money raised through a voting process. The goals were to increase the students' global awareness and sense of social responsibility.
