Reflection
One of the most important concepts presented in the following chapters is advertising. Advertising can be defined as “the primary means by which a company communicates with its customers about its products, brands, and position in the marketplace” (Iacobucci, 2016, p. 187). Advertisement can convey a product’s positioning and price. For many, advertisements are often associated with television commercials (Iacobucci, 2016, p. 187). However, advertisement are presented in many forms including billboards, magazines and other forms of media. Advertising is important as it attracts the customer’s awareness, can persuade customers, and have long-lasting effects on the memory of a given product (Iacobucci, 2016, p. 187).
Question I
An advertisement design for a hypothetical car would be different depending on the target audience. To begin with, a car advertisement geared towards elderly people would likely be commercials, featuring elderly individuals utilizing reliable cars for hobbies and travel. This is due to the fact that retirees have more time for hobbies and senior citizens account for 80% of leisure travel (Hanks).
An advertisement for children would be a television advertisement as well, including children playing with toy cars. It would feature parents affectionately transporting children to fun activities in a car large enough for families and could even appeal to the imaginative minds of children through fantasy. Because children watch a great deal of television, advertisements geared towards younger individuals are often featured on television. Studies show that children who watch more TV are more likely to want more toys due to various toy advertisements (Blades, 2005, p. 136).
In addition, an advertisement targeting very wealthy individuals might feature refined individuals driving the car and engaging in luxury. Affluent consumers can be reached through personalized advertisements via email, TV advertisements, magazine advertisements, and other mediums, as they are more likely to utilize various media mediums due to their acquired wealth (Wagner). A celebrity that would endorse this hypothetical brand would be Robert Downey Jr. as a wide array of audiences from varying age ranges are familiar with him.

When “newsworthy” events occur in the market, press kits are released to give information about details of product launches, and give background information and propaganda for a company (Iacobucci, 2016, p. 216). Reflection
One of the most important concepts presented in the following chapters is advertising. Advertising can be defined as “the primary means by which a company communicates with its customers about its products, brands, and position in the marketplace” (Iacobucci, 2016, p. 187). Advertisement can convey a product’s positioning and price. For many, advertisements are often associated with television commercials (Iacobucci, 2016, p. 187). However, advertisement are presented in many forms including billboards, magazines and other forms of media. Advertising is important as it attracts the customer’s awareness, can persuade customers, and have long-lasting effects on the memory of a given product (Iacobucci, 2016, p. 187).
Question I
An advertisement design for a hypothetical car would be different depending on the target audience. To begin with, a car advertisement geared towards elderly people would likely be commercials, featuring elderly individuals utilizing reliable cars for hobbies and travel. This is due to the fact that retirees have more time for hobbies and senior citizens account for 80% of leisure travel (Hanks).
An advertisement for children would be a television advertisement as well, including children playing with toy cars. It would feature parents affectionately transporting children to fun activities in a car large enough for families and could even appeal to the imaginative minds of children through fantasy. Because children watch a great deal of television, advertisements geared towards younger individuals are often featured on television. Studies show that children who watch more TV are more likely to want more toys due to various toy advertisements (Blades, 2005, p. 136).
In addition, an advertisement targeting very wealthy individuals might feature refined individuals driving the car and engaging in luxury. Affluent consumers can be reached through personalized advertisements via email, TV advertisements, magazine advertisements, and other mediums, as they are more likely to utilize various media mediums due to their acquired wealth (Wagner). A celebrity that would endorse this hypothetical brand would be Robert Downey Jr. as a wide array of audiences from varying age ranges are familiar with him.

Press kits can be defined as an information about new releases of material (Iacobucci, 2016, p. 216). When “newsworthy” events occur in the market, press kits are released to give information about details of product launches, and give background information and propaganda for a company (Iacobucci, 2016, p. 216). When releasing press kits, several different mediums are used speaking events and campaigns (Iacobucci, 2016, p. 216).
