This document discusses Respectful Conversation Processes (RCP) and how they can be used as missional tools by congregations. RCPs involve bringing together community members to have respectful discussions about controversial issues. The document notes that over 1,500 Minnesotans participated in 54 RCPs on the topic of defining marriage in 2012. RCPs can boost congregational confidence, build empathy in divided congregations, help define a congregation's role in the community, and make disciples by promoting more constructive discussions. Customized RCPs on additional topics are suggested as a way to continue these impactful conversations.
