Brady James Murphy suffered severe injuries after being electrocuted while working on a power line in 2009. He had to have both arms amputated but has shown remarkable resilience and positivity in his recovery. He inspires his step-sister and broke records at the amputee Olympics. The author's goal is to become an elementary school teacher, especially of kindergarten, and in 10 years she envisions being married with children, working as a teacher in Arizona.

3. I like to play sports even though I
may not be the best. In the
summertime I love to going
camping, boating and bonfires.
Also summer is great for going to
the beach, getting a tan and
relaxing in the lake. My friends
and family are a big part of my
life, and they are my favorite
people to hang out with.

5. Brady James Murphy is 22 years old
and he is my step brother. On May 27th
2009 Brady was in an accident near
Onawa, Iowa. He was working on a
power line when he switched two lines
and had a deadly jolt of electricity run
from his left arm through his heart and
then to his right arm. Brady had burns
on his face and arms, and was rushed
to the emergency room in Lincoln,
Nebraska. My family and I waited for
all of his surgeries and he finally came
home about two months later. He had
his arms amputated and is he
expecting to get prosthetics very soon.
Brady is an inspiration, even though
this tragedy has happened he still tries
his best to be positive and live his life.

7. My goal when I graduate from
college is to become an
elementary teacher. I would
really love to be a kindergarten
teacher because I love that
age from 5-6. If I were not to
become a kindergarten
teacher I would like to be a sixth
grade teacher.

8. In ten years I see myself married
with at least two children and
working as a teacher. I’d really
like to move to Arizona because I
have not been out of the Midwest
and Arizona is appealing to me.
Also I see myself in a nice house
with a big backyard.
