Jorge Álvarez Picasso studied mechanical engineering and industrial design in Spain. He has a background in product design, engineering, and graphic design. For his undergraduate studies, he designed projects like a customizable LED lamp and modular seating blocks for public spaces. For his master's degree, he conducted research on brand strategy and design management. Currently, he is working on a portable shelter design for public use. He also does graphic design and illustration work, including posters and branding for a band.

I developed general knowledeabout industrial and productdesign, productdevelopment and engineering, as well as some personal interestforgraphicdesign and illustration, designtheory and designhistory. 5. KubicARTE DesignforPublicSpaces. Three modular concrete blocks createan irregular spaceavailable, availableso thatanyone can paintorwriteonthem. Itaimstohumanizecities, bygivingpeopletoexpressthemselves, makingthespace more personal. Thecubicshapeallowsthemaximum flat area, whilethesizeallowsthe cubes tobeused as a seatingorplayingspace. Originallydesignedfor Callao Square, Madrid.

6. Packaging Re-Design and re-brandingonthetraditionalmahou 33cl. Bottle. Suggested a change of the logo, bottle and colorstoaim a differentmarketgroup, as picturedbelow.

Whippetis a recumbentcarverbikedesignedtoprovidestabilityboth at low and highspeeds, combiningthecomfort of a trikewiththestability and drivingsensations of a recumbentbiciclethankstoaninnovativecarvingsystemand studiedergonomic and antropometricdimensions. Theprojectgot a distinction as the final dissertationproject.

Levi’sDesignAudit DesignResearch, Creativity and Innovation Conducted a teamresearch and reportonthebrandanalyzingfivekeypoints: - DesignAwareness - Innovation - Marketing - BrandExperience -InternalCommunication Theresearchmethodsused: - Secondary: News/pressarticles, journals and companywebsites, competitoranalysis, annualreports and bussiness data. -Primary: Bothqualitative and quantitative: online customersurveys, interviews withstaff and users, video ethnography and consumerobservation, SWOT analysis.

12. Orange and T-Mobile Merger Design Management Performed a brand and strategyreportforthemerger of thetwotelecomcompanies. As part of theresearch, three case studies of othermergers and acquisitionswhereanalyzed: - Sony Ericsson jointventure. - HBOS and Lloyd Bank merger - Cingular and AT&T acquisition. Then, the new marketing strategieswhereproposed: - Mantaining Orange as thebrandname and logo, because of itsstrenght as a brand. - Creating a bussinesssubbrand of Orange, tosatisfyolder and bussinesscustomers. - Creating a new startingpointforyearcontracts, whatwascalled “Orange New Year”, tocreate a sense of community and pridethroughanannualeventforcustomers. - Creating a subbrandfortheelderly, named “Orange Freedom”, approachingtheirspecificneeds and concerns, as thegrowingmarketthey are becoming.

DesignforPublicSpaces Professional Design Studio – Work in Progress Currentlystillworkingon, thisprojectaimstocreate a portable shelterto use un publicspaces, so theuser can protectfrom rain orsunshine. Someteam-basedresearch has beenperformedwithjournals, books and case studies, as well as interviews withthe local council, withstreetfurniturearchitecture, and ethnography and observation. Some personal researchonshelters and camping tentswas done. Rightnow, I stillworkingonthedefinition of thedetails, theservicedesign and otherdeliverables.
