However, poverty rates have declined over time, with children 0-18 at 21.8%, adults 18-64 at 13.7%, and adults 65+ at 9.1% in an earlier year. Young people are more likely to experience poverty due to lower education and experience, while the area one lives in and parents' financial situation also impact rates of poverty.
