Nearly half of the world's population lives on less than $2.50 a day, with over 1 billion living on less than $1.25, and 805 million people do not have enough food. Additionally, 1 billion children live in poverty, 22,000 of whom die daily due to poverty, and over 750 million people lack access to clean water. Chronic malnutrition stunts the growth of 165 million children under age 5 each year. Ways to help address these issues include increasing access to clean water, nutrition, healthcare, education, clothing, and shelter.
