The document describes a prototype confined jet in hot coflow (JHC) burner designed to study MILD combustion of liquids at high pressure. The burner consists of a main combustor where a fuel jet issues into a hot coflow from an independently controlled preliminary burner. It has one optical grade quartz window for visualization and is made of stainless steel, with plans to convert it to thicker materials for higher pressure operation. Future work involves further commissioning, introducing liquid fuels, diagnostics, and characterization for safe high pressure operation.
