Notice faith is singular while the works is plural?
- 3. Applying the 1stCommandmentLoving the Lord = doing things the right way When you do things the right way – Jesus accounts those who hear the Word and do it as his mother and his brothers. Some of you may ask how do I know the right from the wrong? Have you ever searched for something that you wanted so much? It’s much the same. Search for it!

Don’t know howto do right?Proverbs 1:23-3323 Turn at my rebuke; Surely I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you. 24 Because I have called and you refused, I have stretched out my hand and no one regarded, 25 Because you disdained all my counsel, And would have none of my rebuke, 26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes, 27 When your terror comes like a storm, And your destruction comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you. 28“ Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me. 29 Because they hated knowledge And did not choose the fear of the LORD, 30 They would have none of my counsel And despised my every rebuke. 31 Therefore they shall eat the fruit of their own way, And be filled to the full with their own fancies. 32 For the turning away of the simple will slay them, And the complacency of fools will destroy them; 33 But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil.”

Kingdom of Heaven?The Parable of the Hidden Treasure44 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.The Parable of the Pearl of Great Price45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, 46 who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.
- 6. What does itmean?Contrary to people’s belief of the Kingdom of Heaven – it is not heaven itself, but the laws that governs the heaven. Thus the real treasure is not the place but understanding of the way things work! This is what the parable is all about.

Applying the 2ndCommandment What you do must not hurt but benefit others (John 15:12-17)12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. 17 These things I command you, that you love one another.
- 8. This means ...Youviolate this commandment and you automatically violate the first! Even if you do the right thing and yet you hurt another – it is not the right thing!
- 9. Bottom line (conclusion)Do things right and never give up on it. Once you do that, share it with one another, not necessarily wealth, but the knowledge. Do this and you would have completed the whole Bible in its entirety. Thus this is the mission of every believer!
