Jesus taught that believers should obey God and do good works in order to receive rewards in heaven. He warned that the path to eternal life is narrow and that most will not find it. Jesus advised identifying false teachers by their deeds and not believing those who claim to perform miracles but do not obey God. Overall, he emphasized obeying God's commandments to love him and others above all else.
Transforming earth into a paradise – part 3Sabry Shaheen
Jesus taught that obeying God and doing good works will allow believers to receive God's rewards in heaven. He taught believers to act as salt and light by guiding others to the truth through good works. Jesus urged believers to trust that God answers prayers. He warned of false teachers who mislead people and advised evaluating teachers by their deeds. Jesus confirmed the teachings of the Old Testament like loving God and others. He taught that true faith is shown through obedience, not just words. Overall, Jesus' teachings focused on obeying God, doing good works, and transforming earth through compassion, as this would lead to salvation and eternal life.
Does salvation and eternal life with our Creator come just by belief only? Does it require ANY effort on our part? Is the typical Evangelical teaching about the "sinner's prayer" and "once saved, always saved" true or false?
1. The passage discusses the qualifications for church leaders and deacons as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-16, emphasizing that they must be blameless and above reproach in their behavior.
2. It then notes that the greatest mystery of godliness is found in Jesus Christ, who was both fully God and fully man, and who lived a sinless life, performed miracles by the power of the Holy Spirit, and was believed on by both Jews and Gentiles before being received up into heaven.
3. Now in heaven, Jesus intercedes for believers and ensures that those who know him will persevere in faith until his return. His life sets the example of godliness for all Christians
Jesus was warning us that saying is not doing vol 2GLENN PEASE
This is vol. 2 of Jesus warning us that saying is not doing. It is folly to have words of loyalty to Jesus and not have works verify the words. Big talk can end in big judgment.
This document provides a summary of a sermon given on 1 Timothy 3:1-16. The sermon discusses the qualifications for church leaders outlined in the passage, but notes that these qualifications can seem overwhelming. However, the "mystery of godliness" according to verse 16 is not a list of rules but a Person - Jesus Christ. The sermon then walks through each part of verse 16 about Jesus, from his incarnation to his resurrection and ascension. The key point is that godliness is found not through self-effort but by looking to Jesus, who intercedes for believers and lives within them by the Holy Spirit. Believers can be assured of salvation not by their own works but through faith in
Sovereignty, Free Will, and Salvation - God's Sovereignty over Salvation Part 3Robin Schumacher
God's sovereignty and salvation were discussed over three parts. This document reviewed that God predestines some for salvation according to his good pleasure, and the Augustinian view of predestination is most reasonable biblically. While God desires all to be saved, his will must be properly understood through scripture. God's purpose is his own glory, demonstrated through saving some and judging others, and he has mercy on whom he desires.

The document provides guidance for following the teachings of Jesus Christ. It emphasizes living with humility, love for others, and being doers of the word, not just hearers. True disciples must demonstrate patience, forgiveness and sacrifice in their daily lives as Jesus exemplified. During Lent, believers are called to reflect on how closely they have followed Jesus' example of humility and love.
This document provides a summary and analysis of Deuteronomy 18:9-22 from the Bible. It discusses the passage's prohibition of spiritism and divination, and promise from God to raise up a prophet like Moses from among the Israelites. The document analyzes this promise as referring to future Old Testament prophets, and ultimately to Jesus Christ. It provides biblical references showing how Jesus and his followers viewed him as fulfilling this promised prophet. In conclusion, the document exhorts believers to avoid occult practices and trust solely in God's word revealed through his prophets, and ultimately through Jesus.

The document discusses Christian perspectives on sexuality from multiple passages in the Bible. It explores both sides of the issue, including perspectives that homosexuality is sinful based on passages like Romans 1, but also perspectives of grace, love and redemption based on passages like 1 Corinthians 6. Overall, the document suggests Christians should approach discussions on sexuality and identity with humility, focusing on Christ's message of love and redemption rather than political debates, and recognizing both shared sinfulness and God's offer of forgiveness.
This document provides a summary of Romans 15:14-21; 30-33 and context about the early Christian churches in Rome. It discusses how Paul sought to gain support from the Roman churches for his mission activities in Spain by building rapport and requesting prayer. The summary concludes by explaining that Chapter 16 contains greetings and benedictions to many individuals.

The document provides information about presentations on Pilgrim's Progress by Michal Lopianowski. It contains:
1) Details on how to access accompanying videos and PowerPoint presentations for the talks.
2) A note that credit should be given to Lopianowski when using the materials, as the presentations were based on his Bible studies.

This document is a summary of chapters 1-4 of the biblical book of First Corinthians. It discusses how Paul writes to the church in Corinth to address divisions within the church caused by arguments over which church leaders they follow. Paul urges them to unity and reminds them that Christ, not any human leader, is most important. He explains that though his message may seem foolish, it is the power of God.
Paul addresses an objection to his teaching on justification by grace - that if sin causes grace to increase, then people may as well sin more so that grace can abound even more. He rejects this, saying we cannot continue in sin just because of grace. Justification declares us righteous but sanctification transforms us through dying to sin and living for righteousness. Paul pursues this theme by arguing that true faith leads to holiness, not license, as we have been united with Christ in his death and resurrection.
This document discusses the need for intense engagement in evangelism. It notes that billions are dying without Christ and churches may cease to exist unless more is done to meet this need. However, the need is not being met due to a lack of concern, knowledge, courage, faith and focus among Christians. The document urges Christians to fulfill the Great Commission by making disciples, to love others by offering salvation, and to have the zeal of the early church. It argues intense engagement is needed because of God's command, to show love for others, and because of the joy in saving souls and the terror of judgment day. The conclusion calls Christians to restore the church's original mission of intense engagement in God's vineyard.
The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, scoffed at Jesus when he taught about financial matters. While the Pharisees were outwardly devout and knowledgeable about scripture, their true motivation was greed. Their love of wealth distorted their judgment and led them to actively oppose Christ, culminating in conspiring for his death. True righteousness requires having a humble, trusting heart oriented toward love of God rather than worldly pursuits.
This document provides scriptural references and commentary on several biblical concepts and teachings. It discusses how one should listen carefully to Jesus' teachings. It also discusses not being short-sighted, facing persecution for one's faith, not being ashamed of Christ, and how stronger believers should support and help weaker believers. The overall message is about properly understanding and living out biblical teachings.

1. The document discusses Jesus' teachings in Matthew 5:17-22 and 43-45 about fulfilling the law and loving your enemies.
2. It analyzes a sermon by John Piper on loving your enemies, noting that we should pray for those who persecute us and that true love seeks others' welfare.
3. Loving enemies reflects God's love for all people, even when they are not yet His friends, and prayer can help develop the right loving attitude toward persecutors.
This letter from Paul and Timothy is addressed to the faithful Christians in Colosse. Paul writes to encourage them to continue living according to Jesus' teachings and to beware of empty philosophies that are not rooted in Christ. He emphasizes that through faith in Christ, believers share in God's divine plan and are made complete. Paul warns against following mere human rules and traditions, as believers now live under Christ's lordship and are citizens of God's kingdom.
The document discusses biblical passages about eternal rewards for believers. It notes that believers will be rewarded according to their works and faithfulness to God. There will be different levels of reward in heaven based on how believers lived on earth, including crowns for overcoming trials and making disciples. The rewards will far outweigh any suffering endured for Christ and motivate Christians to serve wholeheartedly.
1. Jesus teaches that his followers must exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees by loving even their enemies.
2. In Matthew 5:17-22 and 43-45, Jesus contrasts the teachings of the scribes and Pharisees with his own, saying his followers must not just avoid murder but also anger, and must love not just neighbors but enemies.
3. Loving enemies means seeking their highest welfare through prayer and good deeds, as God loves all people, even his enemies.
The document discusses how true believers must die to sin and self through baptism and crucifixion of the flesh, just as Christ died and was resurrected. It emphasizes that feeling and faith are distinct, and we must exercise faith in God's word rather than relying on feelings. True victory over sin comes through fully surrendering one's life and crucifying the flesh, allowing the Holy Spirit to work inwardly and manifest outwardly in conduct that witnesses to Christ.
This document is a letter from John discussing several topics:
- Jesus Christ is the eternal life and the Son of God who was seen and touched.
- Those who believe in Jesus have fellowship with God and each other.
- John instructs believers to love one another and avoid sinning. He says if they do sin, Jesus advocates for them before God.
- John emphasizes the importance of obeying God's commandments, especially loving one another, and differentiates true believers from false prophets and antichrists.
This letter from Paul addresses churches in Galatia that are being influenced to follow Jewish laws and traditions rather than relying on faith in Christ alone for salvation. Paul emphasizes that he received his gospel directly from Jesus Christ, not from the other apostles. He warns the Galatians that following any other gospel than the one he preached will result in God's curse. Paul argues that people are made right with God through faith in Christ, not by obeying the Jewish law, and that the Holy Spirit is received through faith in Christ, not by keeping the law.
According to the teachings of different religions, our life on earth is only a primary testing period. We are not supposed to relax and enjoy ourselves during the test, we should not expect that the test questions are clearly known in advance, we should expect difficulties during the test, and we will be rewarded according to our faith, our obedience, our compassion, and our good deeds
If we review the teachings of Judaism like Exodus 20:20, Deuteronomy 8:2, Deuteronomy 13:3, we find that God tests people to know who obeys and who does not obey
Exodus 16:4 teaches I may test them, whether they will walk in My law or not
In Exodus 20:20, Moses taught that God tests you so that the fear of God will be with you to keep you from sinning
The same teaching is also found in Deuteronomy 13:3
God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul
In Deuteronomy 8:2-3, Moses taught that God tests people in order to know what is in their heart, whether or not they would keep his commands.
Deuteronomy 4:30 teaches that in tribulations, people would return to God and obey his voice
The same teachings are confirmed many times in the holy book
Job 23:10 teaches when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold
Job 5:7 teaches that we are here for testing
People are born for trouble as surely as sparks fly upward
Job 5:17 teaches blessed is the one whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of God
PSALM 11:4-5 teaches He watches everyone closely; examining every person on earth. God examines both the righteous and the wicked
Psalm 66:10 teaches For You, O God, have tested us; You have refined us as silver is refined
PROVERBS 17:3 teaches The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold, but God tests the hearts
ISAIAH 48:10 teaches I have refined you, but not as silver is refined.
Rather, I have refined you in the furnace of suffering
Jeremiah 17:10 teaches that God tests us and will reward everyone according to his works
Jesus taught that life is a test; he taught that we are in a temporary testing period and we are being prepared for a permanent life. He also taught that the rewards will be according to our obedience and our good works
Talking in parables, Jesus taught that God tests us by tribulation, temptation, trials, persecutions and promised rewards in heaven for those who pass those tests
Jesus has taught people to stand up for the truth even if persecuted by the bad multitudes who hate the truth. He taught that and also demonstrated it when he stood up for the truth against the bad chief priests who explained religion to their benefits
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven - Matthew 5:10
God has set the world stage for testing; every day we meet hungry and poor people; some will help and some will refuse to help; those would not be rewarded similarly
The document discusses the teachings of various religions about the objectives of life. It states that according to religions like Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and others, life is a test to determine who obeys God through their faith, compassion, and good deeds. Many religious scriptures are cited that say God tests people to see who follows commands and that people will be rewarded or punished based on their test results. Jesus' teachings are discussed as also emphasizing life as a test and rewards going to those who pass through obedience and good works.

It summarizes Jesus' teachings from the Sermon on the Mount about not worrying and having faith that God will provide, and about judging others. Making disciples involves following Jesus' Great Commission to go, baptize, and teach others to obey all his commands.
Identification of the true and wrong teachingsSabry Shaheen
The document identifies true and distorted religious teachings. It discusses how Jewish scribes distorted the original teachings of the Old Testament by adding phrases that limited justice and blessings to only Israelites. Examples of true teachings that applied laws equally to both Israelites and foreigners are provided. Distorted teachings are shown to glorify certain figures and benefit religious leaders. Jesus and prophets warned against such distortions for personal gain.

26 Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. 27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
Proverbs 29:7New International Version
7 The righteous care about justice for the poor,
but the wicked have no such concern.
Malachi 3:6-12New International VersionBreaking Covenant by Withholding Tithes
6 “I the Lord do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed. 7 Ever since the time of your ancestors you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord Almighty.
“But you ask, ‘How are we to return?’
8 “Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me.
“But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’
“In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. 11 I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the Lord Almighty. 12 “Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the Lord Almighty.
Matthew 6New International VersionGiving to the Needy
6 “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
2 “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.Prayer
5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Fa ...

What Does The Bible Say About Christian Giving?
Is Tithing For The Church?
Answering Questions About Christian Giving
Christian Giving, Tithing, Tithes, Tithe, Gifts
The document contains several Bible passages from 1 Corinthians, Acts, Matthew, 1 John, 1 Timothy, James, Luke, Hebrews, Mark, and Ephesians about maintaining an undistracted devotion to the Lord. It discusses how being married, wealth, friendship with the world, jealousy, and the cares of this life can divide one's interests and attention away from solely pleasing God. It emphasizes the importance of single-mindedly serving the Lord with one's whole heart, soul, mind and strength.
The document discusses biblical passages about the mustard seed and leaven as parables about the growth of God's kingdom and the spread of corruption or false teachings. It argues that the parables prophesy an end-times apostasy where a satanic movement grows abnormally within the church and false doctrine spreads from the Roman Catholic church to influence all of Christianity. The document provides analysis to support interpreting the "woman" and "three measures of meal" in the parables as references to religious systems and groups that will be corrupted.
Matthew 6 instructs us on how to avoid self righteousness and live out a righteousness from God. Moving beyond control and manipulation and into fellowship and bearing fruit through abiding in the Lord. The last verse in the passage serves as a great method for spiritual seekers.
This document contains a summary of a sermon given on Proverbs 31:30. It discusses the meaning of the verse, which contrasts the deceitfulness and vanity of physical beauty with praising a woman who fears the Lord. It says charm and beauty will fade over time, but a woman who fears God will be honored. It defines what it means to fear the Lord, which is to have godly reverence and persevering faith. Such women who make up the church will be noticed, blessed, and honored by God both now and eternally.
This document contains summaries of several Bible passages from Matthew and 1 Corinthians. It begins with Matthew 6:33 which states "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you as well." It then provides concise summaries of key points from Matthew 6:1-34, Matthew 22:36-40, John 17:13-19, and 1 Corinthians 7:29-35 on topics like prayer, giving, fasting and worrying. Jesus came to clarify the true teachings and to expose the bad religion teachers who explained religion to their benefits
This document discusses ways to overcome selfishness based on biblical principles. It recommends guarding one's heart from greed and materialism, seeking the interests of others according to biblical convictions, giving generously including tithing, blessing others with time and resources, sharing oneself with others like Jesus did, praying to be a blessing, and reminding others to live selflessly for Christ. Overcoming selfishness involves denying oneself daily and living for God and others rather than one's own interests alone.

The document provides a summary of teachings from Islam's holy book, the Quran. It discusses over 50 verses that teach obedience to God and his prophets, doing good deeds, avoiding evil and disobedience, believing in God and the afterlife, being grateful for God's signs and blessings, forgiving others, caring for the poor and needy, resisting temptation, and preparing for the Day of Judgment. The verses urge following guidance from God rather than desires or opinions, and warn that people will be judged based on their deeds, not the sins of others.
The greatest teachings of Christianity according to the document are:
1) Jesus taught that believers should obey God and do good works in order to pass tests on Earth and receive rewards in heaven.
2) Jesus warned that the path to destruction is broad while the path to life is narrow, and that few will find it.
3) Jesus taught that salvation is based on good works, not just belief, and that God will judge people according to their deeds.

It discusses passages that teach about obeying God's commands in order to receive blessings, and disobeying them will result in curses. It also discusses teachings about loving foreigners, being just especially to widows and orphans, and choosing life through repentance and obedience rather than arrogance and disobedience to God's laws.
Objectives of life as taught in judaism, christianity, and islamSabry Shaheen
This document discusses the teachings of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam regarding the objectives and purpose of life. It argues that life is a temporary testing period, with rewards in the afterlife determined by how one passes the tests of obedience, faith, compassion, and good deeds. All three religions see God as testing humanity to evaluate character and distinguish between the righteous and unrighteous. Suffering and difficulty are part of the test, and people should focus on pleasing God rather than enjoying earthly pleasures.
This document contains 15 inspirational quotes about change from various notable figures. Some of the key messages are: change can be scary but avoiding it out of fear prevents growth; focusing energy on building the new rather than tearing down the old is the secret to change; changing your daily routine is key to changing your life; and those who believe they can change the world are the ones who actually do.
The document discusses resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through following the original teachings of Moses, which promoted justice, equality, and conditional choice by God based on obedience. It argues the current teachings claim the Jews are unconditionally chosen, contrary to Moses. To achieve peace, it says the same laws should apply to Jews and non-Jews, justice must be maintained, and the prophets' teachings on non-violence and priorities like agriculture over military should be followed.
Book summary identification of the wrong teachingsSabry Shaheen
The document summarizes how religious scholars have distorted the core teachings of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam in order to claim their religion is the only true one.
For Judaism, the document argues Jewish scholars do not teach the original teachings of Moses, which emphasized conditional blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience. Instead, they teach Jews are unconditionally chosen, contradicting Moses. They also ignore Moses' teachings on equal treatment of foreigners.
For Christianity, the document claims most Christian scholars teach distorted interpretations rather than Jesus' true teachings which emphasized deeds over faith alone.
For Islam, the document states Muslim scholars who justify killing or teach predestination contradict the Quran. The true teachings emphasize
Book summary identification of the wrong teachingsSabry Shaheen
The document summarizes how religious scholars have distorted the core teachings of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam in order to prove their own religion is superior.
It provides examples of distortions made by Jewish scribes to the teachings of Moses, such as restricting justice and fair treatment only to fellow Israelites, rather than applying them universally as the original teachings intended. Christian scholars are said to have distorted Jesus' teachings of compassion in order to promote ideas like predestination. Muslim scholars too have allegedly ignored teachings of equality, freedom of religion, and nonviolence in order to claim superiority over other faiths and justify harmful actions.
The document discusses how many people prefer certain teachings of Paul over the harsher teachings of Jesus. It claims that people are drawn to teachings that emphasize salvation through faith alone or predestination, rather than teachings where Jesus calls for strict obedience or self-sacrifice. The document suggests that some scholars improperly focus on attractive teachings to get more donations, rather than conveying the true teachings found in the Bible.
The second coming - The Messiah is backSabry Shaheen
The document contains questions posed to a new Messiah figure about life's objectives and the teachings of religions. The Messiah responds that according to religious teachings, life is a temporary test period where people are tested on their faith, obedience, compassion, and good deeds. Religions teach that God tests people to see who obeys commands and that those who obey will be blessed while those who rebel will be cursed. The objective of life is to pass tests of tribulation and temptation, and there will be rewards in the afterlife for those who demonstrate righteousness through their works.
The document discusses guidelines for success and failure according to Judaism based on teachings from the Old Testament. It states that the Old Testament teaches that obedience to God and keeping his commands are necessary for success, while disobedience will lead to curses and failure. It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

Towards a better life
Sabry Shaheen
2. Jesus taught that when we obey God and do good works;
we will pass the test of this world and will become qualified
to receive God’s rewards in heaven
In Matt 5:13-16, Jesus taught that the believers should act as
the salt to protect against corruption and as a light to guide
others to the truth
You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has
become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is
no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out
and trampled underfoot by men
Success and failure according to
Christianity
3. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill
cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put
it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives
light to all who are in the house. “Let your light shine
before men in such a way that they may see your good
works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven
The same is also written in mark 9:50 and Luke 14:34-35
In Matt 7:7-11, Jesus urged the believers to ask God and to
knock the door; he wanted us to trust that God answers our
prayers
Success and failure according to
Christianity
4. Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will
find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks
finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or
what man is there among you who, when his son asks
for a loaf, will give him a stone? “Or if he asks for a
fish, he will not give him a snake, will he?
“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to
your children, how much more will your Father who is
in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!
The same is also written in Luke 11:9-13
Success and failure according to
Christianity
5. In Matt 7:13-14, Jesus warned those who follow the
majority
Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is
wide and the way is broad that leads to
destruction, and there are many who enter
through it.
For the gate is small and the way is narrow that
leads to life, and there are few who find it
Most people ignore that teachings and say ‘As long as I am
with the majority, I should be fine’, but they are wrong

Matthew 7:13-14
Success and failure according to
Christianity
6. In Matt 7:15-20, Jesus warned from the false teachers who
mislead people; he advised us to identify them from their
bad deeds Beware of the false prophets, who come
to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are
ravenous wolves. You will know them by their
fruits. Grapes are not gathered from
thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? So
every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree
bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot produce bad
fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit.
Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut
down and thrown into the fire. So then, you will
know them by their fruits
The same is also written in Luke 6:43-44
Success and failure according to
Christianity
7. In Matt 12:38-39, Jesus blamed those who asked him to
perform miracles
Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said to
Him, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from
You.” But He answered and said to them, “An evil
and adulterous generation craves for a sign;
and yet no sign will be given to it but the sign of
Jonah the prophet
The same is also written in Mark 8:11-12, luke 11:29-32
In Matthew 7:21-23 Jesus warned of the false teachers who
claim to perform miracles; he advised that only the believers
who obey will enter the kingdom of heaven
Success and failure according to
Christianity
8. Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter
the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the
will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to
me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in
your name and in your name drive out demons and in
your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell
them plainly, ‘I never knew you.
Away from me, you evildoers!
The same is also written in Luke 13:25-27
In Matthew 22:35-40, Jesus confirmed the teachings of the
Old Testimony like Deuteronomy 6:5 and Leviticus 18:4-5
You must love God with all your heart, all your soul,
and all your mind.' This is the first and greatest
commandment. A second is equally important: 'Love
your neighbor as yourself.'
Success and failure according to
Christianity
9. All the other commandments and all the demands of
the prophets are based on these two commandments
In Luke 10:25-28 Jesus was asked
“Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal
life?” He said to him, “What is written in the
Law? How do you read it?” And he
answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with
all your heart and with all your soul and with all
your strength and with all your mind, and your
neighbor as yourself.” And he said to him, “You
have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.”
The same teaching is written in Mark 12:28-34
Success and failure according to
Christianity
10. Mark 12:33 teaches: And to love one’s neighbour as
himself, is much more than all burnt offerings and
sacrifices
What Jesus taught here is not different from the wisdom
taught by the old testimony Hosea 6:6
For I desire mercy and not sacrifice, And the knowledge of
God more than burnt offerings
In Mark 10:17-19 Jesus did not accept the title of ‘Good
Teacher’ and said Why do you call me good? No one
is good but God alone; he confirmed the law, he did not
mention the atonement or the mistake of Adam or that he
came to die for the sinners. Like other Prophets, he has
simply confirmed the law
Success and failure according to
Christianity
11. "Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal
life?"
Jesus said to him, "Why do you call me good? No one
is good but God alone.
You know the commandments: 'You shall not murder;
You shall not commit adultery; You shall not steal; You
shall not bear false witness; You shall not defraud;
Honor your father and mother.'"
The same teachings are written in Matthew 19:16-19 and in
Luke 18:18-20
Luke 12:16-21 is a parable to warn most people who
treasure for tomorrow while turning a blind eye to the
hungry people we see everyday
Success and failure according to
Christianity
12. Then he told them a parable: "The land of a rich
man produced abundantly. And he thought to himself,
'What should I do, for I have no place to store my
crops?'
Then he said, 'I will do this: I will pull down my barns
and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain
and my goods. And I will say to my soul, 'Soul, you
have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat,
drink, be merry.'
But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night
your life is being demanded of you. And the things you
have prepared, whose will they be?' So it is with those
who store up treasures for themselves but are not rich
toward God."
Success and failure according to
Christianity
13. John 12:25 warns those who like to "live it up" urging them
to prepare for the eternal life
Those who love their life in this world will lose it.
Those who care nothing for their life in this world will
keep it for eternity
The same is also confirmed in Matthew 10:39 and Matthew
16:25
The same is also mentioned in Luke 9:23-25, Mark 8:34-35
Matthew 13:44 teaches us to give everything to obey so that
we get God’s rewards for the righteous
The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a
field, which someone found and hid; then in his joy he
goes and sells all that he has and buys that field
Success and failure according to
Christianity
14. James 4:1-5 also warns those who compete to enjoy the
pleasures of this life
What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they
come from your desires that battle within you? You
want something but don't get it.
You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you
want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because
you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not
receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you
may spend what you get on your pleasures.
You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship
with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who
chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy
of God
Success and failure according to
Christianity
15. John 15:10-11 reminds us of the rewards for obedience
If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my
love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments
and abide in his love.
I have said these things to you so that my joy may be
in you, and that your joy may be complete
Luke 6:27-36 and Matthew 5:38-42 set the high standard for
wise dealing with others; such teachings would replace
hatred by compassion and would transform earth into a
paradise
Success and failure according to
Christianity
16. But I say to you that listen, Love your enemies, do
good to those who hate you, bless those who curse
you, pray for those who abuse you. If
anyone strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also;
and from anyone who takes away your coat do not
withhold even your shirt.
Give to everyone who begs from you; and of him who
takes away your goods do not ask them again. And as
you wish that men would do to you, do so to them
But love your enemies, do good, and lend, expecting
nothing in return. Your reward will be great, and you
will be children of the Most High; for he is kind to the
ungrateful and the wicked. Be merciful, just as
your Father is merciful
Matthew 7:12 reminds us of the “Golden Rule”, the common
ground wisdom taught by all wise teachers
Success and failure according to
Christianity
17. So whatever you wish that men would do to you, do
so to them; for this is the law and the prophets
Matthew 6:24 urges us to shift from the material life into a
spiritual life
No one can serve two masters; for a slave will either
hate the one and love the other, or be devoted to the
one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and
wealth
Matthew 12:50 teaches that the real family of the prophet
are the obedient believers
For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is
my brother and sister and mother
Success and failure according to
Christianity
18. Luke 6:46-48 teaches that solid faith foundations are based
on obedience to the teachings
Why do you call me 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I
tell you? I will show you what someone is like who
comes to me, hears my words, and acts on them. That
one is like a man building a house, who dug deeply and
laid the foundation on rock; when a flood arose, the
river burst against that house but could not shake it,
because it had been well built
The same is also taught in John 14:15 and John 14:21
If you love me, you will keep my commandments
John 14:21 They who have my commandments and keep
them are those who love me; and those who love me
will be loved by my Father, and I will love them and
reveal myself to them
Success and failure according to
Christianity
19. In Matthew 25:31-45 Jesus described the final judgment as
being based on good works; he clarified that those who obey
the law will be saved
Salvation is not based solely on belief and nothing else;
salvation is not granted to those who merely profess
acceptance of Jesus without actually performing kind or
compassionate deeds
Jesus did not teach that a man is justified by faith without
the deeds of the law; In Matthew 16:27 and John 5:29, Jesus
has confirmed that God will reward each person according to
his deeds; those are the basic teachings of the old testimony
like the verses taught in Psalm 62:12, Ecclesiastes 12:14, and
many other old testimony verses
Success and failure according to
Christianity
20. Matthew 25:41-46 teach that when we give the poor, we
give to God
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand,
Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire,
prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an
hungred, and ye gave me no meat:
I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a
stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed
me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw
we thee anhungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked,
or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto
you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of
these, ye did it not to me.

21. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment:
but the righteous into life eternal.
Matthew 6:19-20 is an advice to have Treasures in heaven,
not in earth
Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth,
where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves
break in and steal. But store up for yourselves
treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not
destroy, and where thieves do not break in and
steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will
be also.
Matthew 13:18-23 is a parable on those who accept the
teachings and do good deeds

22. Listen then to what the parable of the sower means:
When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and
does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches
away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed
sown along the path. The seed falling on rocky ground
refers to someone who hears the word and at once
receives it with joy. But since they have no root, they
last only a short time. When trouble or persecution
comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. The
seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who
hears the word, but the worries of this life and the
deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it
unfruitful. But the seed falling on good soil refers to
someone who hears the word and understands it. This is
the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty
or thirty times what was sown

23. In Matthew 15:6-9 Jesus faced those who nullify the word of
God for the sake of their traditions
they are not to ‘honor their father or mother’ with
it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of
your tradition. You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he
prophesied about you:
“‘These people honor me with their lips, but their
hearts are far from me.
They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely
human rules.”
The same teaching that they ignore God’s law and prefer
fathers traditions is also mentioned in Mark 7:6-9

24. And He said to them, “Rightly did Isaiah prophesy of
you hypocrites, as it is written:
‘THIS PEOPLE HONORS ME WITH THEIR
LIPS, BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR AWAY FROM ME.
‘BUT IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME, TEACHING AS
DOCTRINES THE PRECEPTS OF MEN.’ “Neglecting the
commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of
men.”
He was also saying to them, You are experts at setting aside
the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition
In Luke 13:3 and13:5, Jesus taught that repentance is
necessary for salvation
But unless you repent, you too will all perish

25. Matthew 3:8-10 clarifies that prophets preach of repentance
Prove by the way you live that you have repented of
your sins and turned to God. Don’t just say to each
other, ‘We’re safe, for we are descendants of
Abraham.’ That means nothing, for I tell you, God can
create children of Abraham from these very
stones. Even now the ax of God’s judgment is poised,
ready to sever the roots of the trees. Yes, every tree
that does not produce good fruit will be chopped down
and thrown into the fire
Matthew 3:2 and 4:17 shows that John and Jesus preached
repentance

26. Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom
of Heaven is near
Matthew 9:13 teaches that Jesus came to call the sinner to
repentance
I desire mercy, and not sacrifice, for I came not to call
the righteous, but sinners to repentance
In Luke 15:7 and 15:10, Jesus taught that there is joy in
heaven over repentant sinner
I tell you that even so there will be more joy in heaven
over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine
righteous people who need no repentance.
Even so, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the
angels of God over one sinner repenting

27. Luke 15: 32 clarifies that the Repentant Sinner was dead and
is alive again
But it was appropriate to celebrate and be glad, for
this, your brother, was dead, and is alive again. He was
lost, and is found
James 5:19-20 urge us to guide the lost person to the truth
and to bring him back to God
My brothers, if one of you wanders from the truth,
and someone causes him to return, you should know
that whoever turns a sinner from his wandering path
will save him from death and cover many sins
In John 5:30-31 and 12:49-50 Jesus taught that he is only
delivering the message of God

28. I can do nothing on my own. I judge as God tells me.
Therefore, my judgment is just, because I carry out the
will of the one who sent me, not my own will.
If I were to testify on my own behalf, my testimony
would not be valid
I don’t speak on my own authority. The Father who
sent me has commanded me what to say and how to
say it. And I know his commands lead to eternal life; so
I say whatever the Father tells me to say
In John 17:3, Jesus taught that the father is the only true God
Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only
true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent

29. James 1:5 urges us to ask God for wisdom
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who
gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will
be given to you
James 1:22-26 urge us to be doers of the law, and not
hearers only
But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what
it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For
if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like
glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk
away, and forget what you look like.

30. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets
you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget
what you heard, then God will bless
you for doing it. If you claim to be religious but don’t
control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your
religion is worthless
James 2:14 and 2:17 teach that faith without works is dead
What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he
has faith but does not have works? Can faith save
him?
Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is
dead
