Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

Am schimbat radical imaginea radioului și am influențat modul în care comunică

11. A doua mare schimbare adusă a fost asupra parteneriatului cu Untold și Neversea, ca
radio și partener media principal.
Comunicarea pentru acest eveniment se făcea în principal pe radio și minimal pe site și
în social media. După ce am venit eu la Kiss FM, am profitat de toate beneficiile pe care
le aveam ca parteneri.
Înaintea festivalului, comunicam orice anunț de line-up, promovam achiziționarea de
abonamente și orice mai era important. Aveam inclusiv un concurs dedicat ”Fii DJ-ul
Kiss FM la Untold / Neversea”.

difuzare (doar noi și Untold o făceam pe internet, iar Pro TV o făcea pe TV după o
anumită oră)
promovam interviurile cu artiștii din line-up, care urmau să fie publicate pe YouTube
făceam foarte mult community management pe Facebook și YouTube
o mulțime de alte materiale

i-am învățat pe DJii Kiss FM cum să folosească diferite opțiuni de pe Instagram
și TikTok
se promovau pe story și prin postări (notă personală, dar și promovarea
programului lor); își dădeau ”ștafeta” virtual unul altuia și chiar comunicau prin
story-uri
făceau mini-vloguri
Vara nu era doar Untold și Neversea, ci și propriul proiect al radioului, SummerKiss.
În mai multe locații de pe litoral, DJii Kiss FM erau prezenți, puneau muzică și erau
live pe radio din diferite locații. Un proiect cu mult potențial neexploatat în social
media!

Kiss FM, Magic FM și Rock FM și-au unit forțele și au organizat propriul festival.
Prima ediție a durat 4 săptămâni (în weekend-uri), apoi a fost rebranduit în KiMaRo și se
desfășura de-a lungul unui weekend.
Pentru acest festival am coordonat toată comunicarea online pentru toate radiourile, iar
pentru Kiss FM am comunicat eu totul pe canalele de social media.
Am realizat strategia de comunicare online a evenimentului, apoi m-am asigurat că e
implementată de colegii de la celelalte radiouri (înainte, în timpul și după festival).

16. Am făcut postări dedicate cu ei și emisiunile lor (foloseam inclusiv comentariile de la
postările lor ca mijloc de comunicare cu aceștia, iar DJ-ul de serviciu le răspundea).
Ocazional intrau live pe Facebook.
În timpul verii, la SummerKiss, i-am învățat să folosească Instagram și TikTok, am
lucrat cu ei să facă mini-vloguri, să posteze story-uri și să se promoveze.
Plus, conținut video cu ei pentru diferite ocazii (Crăciun, milestone-uri pe social
media - de ex. când am ajuns la 100k followeri).
Până să vin eu la radio, erau promovați doar DJii din matinal și rar ceilalți. Așa că
transformarea lor în branduri personale a devenit misiunea mea. Fiecare din ei e
faimos în felul lui și are fani.

18. În august 2016 am devenit Online Coordinator pentru revista Marie Claire România.
Eram responsabilă de site (redactare, editare, SEO, modificări site), newsletter și
conturile de social media (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube).
Am coordonat echipa editorială a revistei pentru a crea conținut exclusiv pentru site.
Pe social media am realizat strategia și direcția în care ar trebui să fie prezent brandul.
În online, brandul a obținut o imagine mai bună, mai approachable, activ și la curent cu
tot ce se întâmplă (mereu cream conținut în timp real pe teme importante și de interes).
*Din iunie 2018 am rămas în regim de colaborare până în ianuarie 2020, când titlul a
fost retras din România.

Cosmopolitan așa că a venit cumva natural pentru
mine să explorez moduri noi prin care puteam

Cosmopolitan.
Facebook câștiga popularitate în România așa că
m-am gândit să-l explorez ca mediu de promovare.
Am experimentat mult și am descoperit principiile după
care funcționează.

23. Apoi am început să am rezultate, să crească traficul și prezența online a brandului
Cosmopolitan.
Așa că am devenit expertul companiei: am ținut trainiguri interne pentru colegii de la
reviste (redactori-șefi și marketing manageri), cât și pentru CEO-ul companiei. I-am
ajutat să înțeleagă cum să creeze prezența online pentru brandurile pe care le
reprezintă, cum să stimuleze engagementul, opțiuni utile și bune practici.
În 2010, competiția Webstock Awards a introdus pentru prima dată categoria
“Facebook Fan Pages”, la care am câștigat locul 2.
