A B O U T M E
I’m a junior at University of Northern Iowa,
studying Graphic Technology.
I believe we were meant to design a world we want to live in, and that is exactly
what I am driven to do. Design is my passion, and with everything I do in life,
I find that there is an endless amount of possibilities to recreate and
revamp whatever it may be.
My portfolio consists of my graphic, social media, print, photography and
video production skills. Within the first two years of college I have had
many opportunities to express my passion and show my skills.
My freshman year at Iowa State University I was given an amazing
opportunity to create a logo for Random Goods on Main Street
in Ames. I have also created many graduation and wedding
invitations using Photoshop and InDesign. While working
at CM Design, we were able to work on a few projects
with F & M Bank in Manchester, Iowa. Recently I have
started an Instagram account called mariahscrafts
where I share and sell my paintings and crafts.

While attending Iowa State University I was a member of the Cardinal and Gold Creative Agency. We met with the owner
of Random Goods as a group of four. I was assigned with recreating their logo.
Random Goods is a used store with-- well, random goods. The owner wanted a retro feel, with a little bit of funk; yet still
be clean and easy to read.
Social Media is the modern way of advertising. It is a fast and simple way to get your companies name out there.
I started an Instagram account a few months ago to start selling my crafts, and promote my art and design skills. The great
thing about Instagram is that you can link your account to other social media accounts you may have; including Facebook,
Tumblr, and Twitter.

F & M Bank produces newsletters three times a year with CM Design. I was fortunate enough to work on F & M’s Summer
2015 edition.
We are given the pictures and captions of what they would like to have on the newsletter and it is our job to create a
layout that easily flows from each page. As you can see, there are many components to this layout.
This newsletter was produced and mailed out to the clients of F & M bank as well as added to their web-page.
Photography is a good skill to have in the Graphic Technology
industry. Depending on what your business posts on their
website or social media pages; chances are there will be
photography involved.
Thankfully, photography is not as hard as it seems. Although
having a good camera is nice, it can also be expensive. Most of
us have smart phones that take pictures with similar quality as
the Canon Rebel.
This picture was taken on my iPhone 5c with a
timer to snap the photo. I chose this picture
for my portfolio because I wanted to
express how easy photography can
be if we just follow a few rules.

F & M BANK
P O R T F O L I O
This summer CM Design was approached by F & M Bank to do a promotional video they have been seeing other
businesses do. They picked five songs to lip sync with different businesses that bank with them. This was taped over a
course of a few weeks.
The project consisted of video taping with a Canon Rebel, linking the songs up with the video, and linking five different
videos together on Adobe Premiere.
