Language, reading, and writing are important for learning from others' experiences, teaching new things, and opening our minds to different ideas and cultures. As adults and teachers, we must demonstrate strong reading and writing skills to teach new generations about history, self-expression, and being positive members of society. Success in professional careers also requires competent communication abilities, as exemplified by President Obama's skills in public speaking and conveying ideas, so teachers must serve as role models to help students achieve success.

As adults and prospective teachers, it is our job to demonstrate knowledge in
reading and writing in order to teach a new generation about things such as history, how
to express themselves, and how to be a positive member of society.
