Il corso era costituito da una parte teorica che
ha trattato svariati argomenti riguardanti la
luce e lo spazio interno. L’uso della luce
naturale è un aspetto fondamentale per poter
progettare in maniera sostenibile, e quì e ho
avuto modo di approfondire in maniera
interessante l’argomento.
L’esercitazione consisteva nel pensare uno
spazio interno per una forma geometrica
prestabilita, con eventuali modifiche del 10%.
Si doveva scegliere tra 4 possibilità. Ho deciso
per una pianta rettangolare e sezione a falda
inclinata. Le scelte successive sono state: la
tipologia di edificio, il luogo in cui si sarebbe
trovato e a chi sarebbe stato destinato. Ho
deciso di progettare un Caffè intellettuale; un
bar dove poter leggere, rilassarsi, navigare in
rete e meditare. L’ho collocato a Trieste, in
collina, disposto in modo che dall’edificio si
potesse vedere il mare ed il castello di
Miramare. Ho scelto Trieste perchè ritenevo che
fosse adatta ad uno spazio seppur moderno,
simile ai bar dove si incontravano gli artisti
intellettuali dell’inizio del XX secolo. Il luogo è
destinato a chiunque volesse adentrarsi in un
mondo parallelo dove la mente domina ogni
cosa, per discutere piacevolmente davanti ad
una tazza di tè, per informarsi, per godere del
magnifico panorama, leggere un libro, una
rivista o guardare un film. Il bar è un percorso
che fà la mente. Si passa dall’esterno ad un
ambiente filtro, protetto, dove poter godere
dell’aria aperta e poter discorrere con
tranquillità, disponendo del servizio bar. Si
passa poi veramente all’interno e si viene
catapultati in un imbuto prospettico che dirige
verso la scala (uno strumento percettivo che
permette alla luce di filtrare attraverso i suoi
gradini). Questo spazio più protetto ha funzioni
simili a quelle esterne. Salita la scala ci si trova
davanti ad una grande finestra che da sulla
costa, un luogo dove poter sostare prima della
sala lettura. comnciamo ad entrare sempre più
nell’intimità del nostro essere. La sala lettura è
una stanza silenziosa e luminosa con terrazza.
Spostando una tenda, rialzato, cè uno spazio
più buio ed intimo, dove poter apprezzare un
bel film. Poi vi è l’ultimo passo del percorso
mentale, luogo per la meditazione, un piccolo
spazio chiuso con un apertura sul soffitto che
permette la vista della volta celeste, un luogo
dove ci si perde nella propria interiorità. Gli
spazi sono l’esito di questo percorso. La
disposizione delle pareti a libro evoca
l’immagine dell’oggetto più importante di
questo luogo. Ogni spazio è come una pagina
di un libro e racconta una storia pur facendo
parte della stessa narrazione.

All GPO’s that are to accommodate ‘IT’ equipment must be on a
dedicated circuit. These GPO's must be clearly labeled with the
circuit number from the main switch board.
All data cabling must be installed to a standard Category 6
classification or better. Each outlet to be installed with a Krone 45
shuttered flush mounted socket with the key at the bottom of the
jack and the conductors at the top to prevent dust and moisture
contaminating the conductors. Each outlet will be labelled with a
unique identifier corresponding with Krone Patch Panel located at
the back of house.
Data cabling to be terminated in a ‘Communications Cabinet’ located
in back of house, location to be confirmed on site with Client.
Cabinet to be located not more than 1800mm from floor. Data
cabling to be terminated in this cabinet on a Krone Patch Panel
(Minimum 12 ports). Each termination to be clearly labelled with
unique identifier corresponding to socket mounted in front counter.
Phone line to be terminated on the same Krone Patch Panel (on the
far right socket of possible) and clearly marked with the actual
phone number.
2 x Double GPOs (10AMP) plugs to be located inside cabinet next
to Krone Patch Panel.
1 x Double GPO (10AMP) to be located at desk height inside office
cabinet (if present). 2 x Cat6 Data points to located at desk height
inside office cabinet (if present).
A report must be provided certifying the data cables are all
performing at the required standard. This report, for each cable,
must include cable length, Attenuation, Return Loss, NEXT (Near
End Crosstalk), FEXT (Far End Crosstalk), PSNEXT (Power Sum
Crosstalk), and AXT (ALien Crosstalk).

SPACIAL EXPERIENCETOWARDS FUTURE LIVING
: On the recently filled up island Sacca Fisola in
the lagoon of Venice, a new habitat for students
will be established. The island has enormous
building capacity and is in close proximity to
the architecture faculty of the university. Sacca
Fisola has the potential to be an example for
contemporary Venice.
Demographics, lifestyles, economies and
resources are changing: the challenges of today
are influencing our life and habits. We are
asking the participants of this design
engagement to think about a vision of their
own living space for the near and remote
future.
We are looking for prototypes of experimental
living and working spaces with a critical
reflection on the historical context,
socio-economical background and climatic
changes. The specific site of the island is
exposed to the rising see-water level and is
asking for appropriate mobility on the island
and to the main land. Our design focus is an
innovative interpretation of quality of space,
with a high level of interactivity and connection
between spaces, a new definition of
intermediate spaces, a high social cohesion and
mixed-used spaces to integrate students life
into the context of the island.
