The students of 5-C form at Taras Shevchenko Gymnasium in Kirovohrad, Ukraine retell the legend of the red dragon of Wales. With help from their teachers, Mrs. Dudich and Mrs. Kolot, the students discuss the legend in Ukrainian and English. They then summarize the story: a king in Wales wants to build a castle but it keeps getting destroyed at night; a wise boy discovers it is two fighting dragons underneath a nearby lake causing the destruction; eventually the red dragon defeats the white dragon, allowing the king to finally build his castle in peace. Today the red dragon features on the flag of Wales as a symbol protecting the land. The students and teachers enjoyed learning
