Optimum Value Engineering & Integrated DesignBrea Perrelli
Optimum Value Engineering and Integrated Design (OVE/ID) are construction philosophies that aim to reduce unnecessary resource use and costs. OVE/ID measures fall into three categories: framing measures to optimize structural elements, mechanical system measures to align utilities efficiently, and overall design measures. Examples of framing measures include using 24" framing modules, eliminating unnecessary framing members, and coordinating openings. These changes can lower construction costs while improving thermal performance. Potential disadvantages include needing more careful design and supervision during construction.

Optimum Value Engineering and Integrated Design (OVE/ID) provides concise summaries of framing and design measures that can reduce construction costs and improve energy efficiency. Key measures include framing walls, floors, and roofs on a 600mm modular grid to reduce materials; aligning structural elements to transfer loads directly; and coordinating window and door locations with framing to minimize extra studs. Adopting these OVE/ID principles typically saves a builder $500-1000 per house through lower materials and labor.

IQUBX JB022 modular junction box for floors is an improved and elegant, yet simple, versatile and flexible patent design for floor junction box, which provides a readily available solution for any size and load bearing capacity and yet, is able to meet aesthetic criteria for contemporary interiors in such spaces.
IQUBX JB022 can be fabricated in situ with only a few basic components which can be readily prepared at site from three types of extruded sections and some flat sheet material like metal, ply board, plastic etc. meeting the requirement of required size and load bearing. The Lid cover sits in the cavity of the junction box, without using any fasteners for fixing, and thus does not come lose, while it can be easily lifted whenever necessary. The most notable feature is, however, that the lid cover uses the same floor finish as the surrounding of any flooring material including tiles, carpets, wood, PVC, stone, glass etc and thus, giving a sophisticated high end look for the interiors. The visible surface of the junction box and lid cover can also be powder coated to emulate the flooring material shade and colour, making it virtually completely unobtrusive.
The final height and finish of the junction box and its lid cover is finalized by resizing the columns of the junction box after the floor finish is laid, providing a perfect level and match.
The sections of the junction box and the lid cover are designed to take high loads allowing the furniture and live loads to be handled without creaking and sagging. There is also built-in flexibility of adding more number of columns to provide additional load bearing capacity as per requirements. Further, huge access areas can be created by using multiple lids in grids. Thus, this system can also be used elegantly in server room areas to act as a raised access floor.
IQUBX JB022 Modular Floor Junction box is made up of extruded and non-corrosive Aluminium, giving it an accurate finish, low carbon foot print, almost nil wastage, with high possibility of recyclability and reusability.
Thus, IQUBX JB022 Modular Floor Junction box is a unique yet very economical solution for all projects where good finishes, functionality and safety are valued and green building products desired – in fact, all contemporary projects.

IRJET- Techno-Economical Analysis of Gabion Retaining Wall Against Convention...IRJET Journal
This document presents a techno-economic analysis comparing gabion retaining walls to conventional retaining walls. It analyzes rubble masonry gravity walls, RCC cantilever walls, RCC counterfort walls, and gabion walls. Design parameters like height, backfill, foundation, and loads are kept constant. The designs are then compared based on required cross-section and steel. The analysis finds that gabion walls prove more economical due to using locally available materials, which makes construction faster and cheaper compared to other wall types. Key advantages of gabion walls identified are easy drainage, flexibility to tolerate differential settlement, speed of construction, ability to use waste materials, and no hydrostatic pressure buildup.

4.6 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS AND USE OF STAIRCASE PANEL
This panel is used for the construction of
flight of stair of up to 6m long (floor at
approx. 3-m intervals) having an accidental
overload of 400 kg/m².
During construction and prior to panel
assembly, the stair panel, lower channels
are filled with concrete (the panel being
placed upside down). This pre-cast operation
confers greater stiffness to the panel during
its assembly enabling at the same time a
drastic reduction of the number of props
used.

Once the stair panel is assembled and the
lattice is placed inside the panel internal
channels, the latter are completed with
gravel concrete (whose particles size is < 12
mm and its minimum strength is Rck > 250
dN/cm²
The concrete may be cast in the panel ribs
contemporaneously with casting of the upper
coating. In case this already exists, the
concrete may be applied to both the ribs and
upper joist.
Successively, the plaster layers (2.5cm thick)
are applied upon the flight of the stairs, first
the lower side and then the upper one, in
order to form the basis on which the flooring
(marble, ceramic tiles, etc) is to be laid.
