Mr Frank Walsh
I am writing to confirm that Frank Walsh was employed by the Pol~ tar Group Umited
from September 03 until he was made redundant in March 05.
Frank initially joined the Group on a fixed term as General Manage' in our Envelopes
business. After the successful closure of that business, Frank accepte< I a permanent role
as MD of a large £30m turnover web-offset business. Frank was ag tin responsible for
the orderly run down and closure of the business, which was success 'ully concluded on-
time and to budget, with no Industrial Relations difficulties. After, brief spell at our
largest plant as Operations Director, Frank moved to a Group r :>Ieas Operations
Improvement Director working for the Group Operations Directo., Frank took over
this role to ensure that site MD's and their management teams WE re focused on the
drive to improve operational performance. He performed well in this role, and
Manufacturing Effectiveness improved across the Group.
In March 05, following the appointment of a new Group Operatic ns Director and a
restructuring of Group Operations support roles, Frank's role was rr ade redundant and
he left the business.
Frank performed professionally, with diligence and commitment in aI of his roles, He is
results focused and determined with a good grasp of oper ,tiona! detail and
manufacturing improvement methodologies.
