Points With A Crew - Waiheke
Once on maui motorhome hire new zealand , there are public buses and taxis, or you can
hire a mountain bike, motor scooter or car. And if you've already got a car or bike, you can
bring it over with you on the car ferry.
Waiheke’s WildLife is suffering
The weather is milder though. Summer, with an average maximum daily temperature of 29C,
is peak season on the island but winter is relatively warm, with highs of 19C dropping to 9C
overnight.
Your ferry timetables and fares
You'll find a range of onsite options - from food pairings, to platters and casual lunch options,
to gourmet meals at award-winning restaurants. Oneroa Village has beautiful cafes, gelato
shops and takeaway options. For a relaxing lunch, take in sea views from The Oyster Inn's
restaurant verandah, or venture to Onetangi for casual beachside dining at Charlie Farley's.
Visit Rangihoua Estate to sample internationally awarded Extra Virgin Olive Oil, or stop by Te
Matuku Oysters to purchase locally farmed seafood. The best bit is the walk back up the hill
along a gently rising boardwalk.
Heletranz is New Zealand’s best-known Auckland-based helicopter company and offers
clients a discreet and dedicated service to Waiheke Island. Unless specified otherwise,
Waiheke Island ferry tickets are valid for one year of the purchase date.
We skip Stony Batter, a network of wartime gun emplacements and tunnels, but stop for a
drop at Man O’ War Bay Vineyard.
Its ferry terminal in Matiatia Bay at the western end is 21.5 km (13.4 mi) from the central-
city terminal in Auckland.

maui beach motorhome – The organic Awaroa vineyards lie on west-facing slopes among
native bush in the middle of Waiheke Island.
The court case finally was concluded with permitted development set at 10,000 m2 of
mixed use gross floor development.
Waiheke's first Vitis vinifera vines were planted in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and an
increase in ferry traffic from Auckland city in the 1990s led to an increase in production to
supply the subsequent increase in tourism.
For more information and timetables visit our section on the Waiheke Bus Company. Located
in the Hauraki Gulf, Waiheke Island is approximately a 40-minute ferry ride from the
Downtown Auckland ferry terminal. You'll cruise past Auckland's stunning coastlines and
beautiful islands as you journey towards your destination.
The property was recently split into two titles - the main house, vineyard and winery are on
one title and a vacant site on the other . But Te Rere Cove Estate in Church Bay Road,
Waiheke Island was up there in the price stakes, with the vendors believed to be wanting
between $20 million and $30 million.
Waiheke has a number of sports teams and facilities on the island. Rugby union, cricket,
rugby league, football and netball are widely played and followed.
The court case finally was concluded with permitted development set at 10,000 m2 of mixed
use gross floor development. The Court also found Auckland City Council and WIL liable for
costs in relationship to the interlocutory judgement. Since WIL was now owned by Council, it
had to write a cheque to CAPOW for $18,000, representing 75% of CAPOW's costs on that
matter. This final cheque allowed CAPOW to pay all its debts and balance its books. As in
many of the world's wine regions, the island is home to a large number of olive trees, which
support its output of artisan, single-estate olive oils.
Its ferry terminal in Matiatia Bay at the western end is 21.5 km (13.4 mi) from the central-city
terminal in Auckland. Recent summers have seen very large increases in the numbers of
tourists visiting Waiheke Island, and tourism development has mushroomed to meet the
demand. This development – largely self-regulated and unmonitored – is already seen by
many residents and tourism operators as having a significant harmful effect on both the
features of the island that attract tourists and on community wellbeing for people who call
Waiheke home.
