MANDURAH BOAT SHOW

lub Marine Mandurah Boat
Show launches next Friday
and it’s all hands on deck
for a fun family event.
The focus is on the fishing
lifestyle — it’s about spending
some time on the water, getting
the kids away from screens and
out into the real world.
As well as the usual
entertainment and attractions
such as cooking and fashion, there
will be information and
demonstrations on boat safety,
skiing and, of course, fishing.
Boats of all sizes, from jet skis to
yachts, will be on display along
with camping, diving and fishing
gear.
You’ll be some of the first in
Australia to have a peek at
Sunseeker’s flash new boat, the
Predator 80 Sports Yacht as well as
boats from Bar Crusher,
Whittley’s Cruiser 2800 and local
brand Tattoo.
Former Olympic athlete and
mum-of-three Emma George will
be a special guest at the show,
sharing her tips on boating and
fishing with a young family.
“It is so important for children
to participate in healthy, active
and fun activities from a young
age,” George said.
“Boating, fishing and camping
are things we do together as a
family and this had enabled us to
share many wonderful
experiences together.
“In a technology-driven world,
too many children are staying
indoors playing virtual games
rather than getting outside and
exploring the real world.”
Interactive activities to get the
kids pumped on the day include a
casting competition, electric boat
rides and kayak rides from the
beach.
The older kids can even have a
go at driving a tinnie, in a
supervised environment.
For the fishing enthusiasts, the
Western Angler Fishing Stage will
be in full swing all weekend and
fishing demonstrations will be
held in the Engel Aquatank across
the weekend.
Presenters include Paul
Worsteling and fishing writers
Scott Coghlan, Mike Roennfeldt,
and Peter Anderton doing
fish-filleting demonstrations.
The Department of Transport
will have boating demonstrations
where you can watch and learn
the basics of how to drive a boat,
as well as learn about boat safety
and skipper’s tickets.
The show is a chance to enjoy
the fresh air and glean ideas
for new outdoor adventures
A number of new boats
will be on display.All hands
