- Podcasting 101, You don’t need a long presentation to tell you what this is. Everyone has questions, and specific issues they all struggle with. I’m just trying to get us all on the same Page.
- Before we get started I wanted to let you know who you were dealing with. I’m the former host of the CaffiNation Podcast, and I love coffee, I will talk your ear off about it. I also love technology and shiny gadgets. I’ve also been a web and graphic designer for around 11 years.
- I’m from Philadelphia, love bad jokes, Work at Temple University and have been podcasting for about 7 years now. I have a degree in anthropology and I’m studying all of you….

- What is a Podcast? It’s a portable on demand broadcast. I always describe it as a downloadable radio show. You need to have the content pushed through RSS, Real Simple Syndication
- What makes a good podcast?It’s hard to nail down but it’s one part engaging content, another part personalityPractice speaking and practice hearing yourself talk.
- Be Genuine, no matter what, let your personality shine through, even if it’s a medical podcast, using huge words and terminology enough to kill a horse.
- Mistakes happen, it’s alright to learn from them. Nothing is perfect and publishing a less than perfect podcast episode will not kill you
- Editing the audio and video is the biggest challenge most of you will face.It is always easier to trim more, but it isn’t always easy to put it back. Spelling on the show content however is a good thing to work on first and foremost
- Breathing is natural don’t leave it out. People start feeling like they are drowning
- Ask other people who are smarter or more experianced than you. There are no stupid questions, only people too afraid to ask the group.Teaming up is both good and bad for shows. By affiliating with a network you can help yourself or pigeonhole yourself. So understand that before signing any agreements.
