Pre‐Requisite for PMP Certification?
• At the time of application, the candidate

• 7500 hrs and 60 months of (if the candidate does not hold a baccalaureate or global 
  equivalent university degree, but holds a high school diploma or equivalent secondary 
  school credential) project management experience.
• Candidates will be required to document experience in performing tasks within the 
  domains as part of the application process.
• 35 contact hrs of formal training in Project Management. (This training will be 
  conducted by Multisoft)
35 contact Hrs Training‐ Overview
• Overview of Project Management: Introduction and Key Concepts in Project
  Management. Reasons why Project Management is required. Differences between
  Projects & Operations. Overview of PMBOK® Guide Fourth edition. Project and
  Product Life Cycles. Organizational Impact: Approaches in Organizational structure
  and its impact. Functional vs. Project based & Matrix Structure.

• Understanding process in each knowledge area: Project Integration Management,
  Project Scope Management, Project Time Management, Project Cost Management,
  Project Quality Management, Project HR Management, Project Communication
  Management, Project Risk Management, Project Procurement Management.

• Understanding the importance and utilization of Scope statement, WBS, Scheduling
  techniques, Cost baseline, Quality Assurance, Communications Plan, Managing Human
  Resources, Contract Administration and Risk Response Plan.

• Revision of PMBOK® Guide‐Fourth edition, through knowledge areas and process
  groups. Discussions on tips & tricks, preparation for PMP® examination. Assignments,
  homework and plan for post course studies.
Who should attend?
• Any person having 4500 hrs and 36 months of unique non‐overlapping project 
  management experience leading and directing project tasks and holding a 
  baccalaureate or global equivalent university degree, or he/she should have 7500 hrs
  and 60 months of experience if he/she does not hold a baccalaureate or global 
  equivalent university degree.

• On Completion of this course of 4 days, you will be awarded 35 Contact Hrs of Training 
  Certificate. (which is a pre requisite for appearing the PMP examination)
Learning Objectives
• Establish a common vocabulary and understanding of basic Project Management
  terms and concepts as in PMBOK® Guide – Fourth edition, viz. project, project
  management, stakeholders, earned value, scheduling techniques, and project
  managers’ responsibilities and competencies.
• Describe the purpose, inputs, and outputs of the processes in each of the five Process
  Groups: Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring and Controlling, Closing.
• Define the 9 Project Management Knowledge areas & explain the relationship of
  Process groups, knowledge areas, project phases, project & product Life Cycle.
• Understand the importance of Project Charter, Scope Statement, Work Breakdown
  Structure (WBS), Responsibility Matrix, PERT‐CPM, EVM.
• Demonstrate a clear understanding of what activities, tools, & techniques, are
  necessary in each phase of a project & understand the PMP® examination nuances.
• Understand, acknowledge & appreciate importance of Risk management,
  Procurement Management, Human Resource Management.
Support for Application Guidelines
• Multisoft will be providing the guidelines for filling up the Application to PMI USA, 
  during our 35 Contact hrs Training Program.

• Faculty will be providing the complete information and brief the participants about 
  the PMP Certification Examination during the 35 contact hrs training.
Examination Fees
• Fees – First Exam.
    • For PMI Members, the fees for the exam are $405 and 
    • for non‐members the fees are  $555.  

• Fees – Re‐Exam
    • For PMI Members, the fees for Re‐exam are $275 and 
    • for non‐members the fees are  $375.

    Note: One should be PMI member while submitting the application to avail above 
    said discount in exam fees
Certification Application Procedure
• Step 1: Application
    • Submit the 4500Hrs or 7500Hrs of Project Management experience to PMI in 
       their format . One should submit it online through www.pmi.org. (Get Certified 
       link)
• Step 2: Eligibility Letter & payment procedure
    • PMI scrutinizes PM experience. It will be processed generally within 5‐7 business 
       days . If the experience details satisfies the requirements of PMI , technical 
       eligibility letter will be sent to qualifying candidate. The eligibility letter confirms 
       that a candidate is technically eligible to take the examination. The eligibility 
       expires after one year.
    • Next: Candidate should pay US$ 555/‐ OR US$405/‐ as per the PMI membership 
       status. Once the payment is processed ( PMI receives the payment & if 
       application is NOT picked for AUDIT) within 5‐7 business days candidate will 
       receive a confirmation letter from the PMI and requesting to schedule the exam 
       online. 
• Step 3: Schedule your exam
    • Upon receipt of the payment confirmation letter, candidate can schedule their 
       exam through a link provided by PMI in their letter.
Application picked for Audit
• PMI holds the right to ‘Audit’ candidates application.
• The process is generally applied randomly & only after candidate has paid for the 
  examination
• PMI sends back the details of 4500Hrs of experience back to candidate and asks for 
  formal verification of each project by the concerned contact person. (detailed and 
  very simple step by step procedure will be informed by the PMI through mail)
• Candidate should submit all the projects data duly signed (hard copy) by the contact 
  person back to PMI
• Upon satisfactory submission PMI will send the confirmation  letter to the candidate 
  to schedule the exam.
Format of Examination
• The PMP Certification Examination is computer based and is comprised of 200
  multiple‐choice questions. The allotted time to complete the examination is four
  hours.

• PMP Examination constructed based on the PMP Examination Specification. The Exam
  specification details the percentage of questions that are contained in each process
  group as follows;

•   Initiating                       11%       22 Questions approx.
•   Planning                         23%       46 Questions approx.
•   Executing                        27%       54 Questions approx.
•   Monitoring & Controlling         21%       42 Questions approx.
•   Closing                          09%       18 Questions approx.

• On or before completion of the 3rd year of the PMP Certificate, you have to claim 
  these PDU’s online to PMI USA along with a continuation fees applicable at that time. 

• On submission of the PDU’s & the fees your PMP Certificate will be continued for 
  another 3 years.
PDU?
• Professional Development Unit – It is the measuring unit used to quantify approved
  learning and professional service activities. Typically, 1 PDU is earned for every one
  hour spent in planned, structured learning experience or activity.
How to Earn PDU?
There are 5 categories under which you can earn PDUs; they are as follows –
    1. Formal academic education
    2. Professional Activities and Self‐Directed Learning
    3. PMI Registered Education Providers (R.E.P.s)
    4. Other Providers: Contact hours of project management education may be
        earned by
    5. Volunteer Service to Professional or Community Organizations: A maximum of 20
        PDUs
