Documenting DST Boot Camp and Energy
Management workshop
Objective: Intently listen to each topic presented through power points,
conversations around the table, and at breakout points. Carefully
document all of the information and most importantly the commentary
being said.
Status: Completed
Accomplished Lessons Learned Improvements
• Handwrote pages of
information highlighting key
concepts and important
commentary.
• Participated in small group
work taking note of specific
questions being asked and
answered.
• Typed up all DST notes.
Organized in chronological
order and then by topic and
listed name of speaker.
• Sometimes not everything is
important. Even though it might
seem like it. Focus in on the
important information that is
necessary to capture.
• Zoom in on the commentary
this is extremely important for
people in the meeting to refer
back to.
• Make sure to keep all notes
very organized with clear titles.
• Have a review session on some
of the key vocabulary to look for
when going into a meeting
where certain topics are being
discussed.
• Have a lesson on how to create
an organizational chart for
taking notes.
•In the beginning this would
have been very helpful for me
especially since I write
everything down.
• Took photos of notes written
by individual groups
• Worked with Zach to created
chart of EM wshop notes.
• Always double check spelling
because if you misspell a word it
can completely change the
meaning of what you
documented.
•Create a template ahead of time
that caters to particular meeting.
Also look for digital easel boards.
To avoid large amount of group
notes

On boarding Document
Accomplished Lessons Learned Improvements
• Created a detailed 28 page
documentation for interns to
follow. This consisted of steps to
help set up:
1) Accounts
2) Computer
3) voicemail
4) computer software
5) and an explanation of key
websites that Schneider uses
like Swebi and how to set up
your international directory
profile.
• gave them welcome package,
name plate, agenda.
• It is important to keep things clear
and simple for new employees to
follow when being presented with a
lot of new information.
• It is vital to take note of any technical
issues that might be a problem for
example (auto time was not working)
and fix these before you have new
interns attempt to use them.
• Keep in mind that you should focus
on completing one task in a day rather
than trying to set up various
accounts. It is too confusing .
• Create a vision with 3 different
phases for interns to follow.
You could break this up :
1) Setup computers and
voicemail and email
2) Create your international
directory profile and learn
how to use Swebi
3) Set up auto time (correctly)
and ADP
4) Set up HR link and review
key websites like Swebi
5 ) Book meetings
• Planned and Executed a
meeting with an agenda for
interns to follow . This agenda
was used to help successfully get
them set up during meeting.
• Make a timeline of what needs to be
completed each day based on
necessity. And try your best to stick
with this.
•Encourage a review session
with interns to tell you what
they found challenging each day
when getting setup.
Use their feedback to make
positive changes.
Objective: Create a simplified way for new interns to go about the on boarding process
at Schneider Electric. Make the Interns feel welcome and provide them with tools
they need to succeed.
